Falling Upward, Revised and Updated: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life

Enjoyed this book! Challenged and comforted me.

Roth admits he is sometimes wordy. He is always challenging and insightful. I will absorb much as I continue to fall upward.

The leader of my book group had read this book four times, one time with Richard Rohr. She called it a deep book. Indeed it is a deep book. I need to read it several times more. The bibliography is inspiring. The title is intriguing: upward not down! This book is a gift of contemplation.

Richard Rohr, OFM, famous contemplative, author, speaker, and spiritual advisor, is at his best in Falling Upward. His command of the scripture, biblical scholarship, and church history and doctrine is evident, yet accessible. More importantly, Richard’s prayerful insight, reflection, guidance and loving encouragement to all of us in our second half of life is life-giving and comforting. One comes away with a deeper understanding of what faith, hope, and love bring to those of us who seek the face of God. This book is a constant read during my Hour of Power each morning, and I don’t hesitate to recommend it to every human, regardless of one’s religious affiliation. It is universally useful to everyone.

Great read

Rohr’s teaching is most helpful. It brings a new perspective to faith, religion, and spirituality. I am eager to read more of his teachings

Enjoy his writings. Now that I am in the second half of my life, it’s interesting to think about the second half in a different way. Love how he presents ideas as suggestions and let’s the mature minds percolate through a thought. Don’t think I would have grasped the concepts he shares if I read this in my 30’s. One may want to be mature enough to get these wonderful concepts in the second half of their lives. Highly recommend this book or any of his writings.

This book was recommended to me by multiple people and I can see why! Deeper faith is possible and this author shows us the way.
