This is my 3rd Dongar splitter install. Perfect fit for my other 2 cars to power a dash cam from the mirror. But this splitter has a socket that does not match the power plug on my Porsche 718 Boxster GTS despite Dongar saying it's a match. Nope. Returned it. Waste of my time.

It is a well made product and if I find someone to install it for me then I will add a review on function but I do not think this is what you want if you have not done multiple installs as it was easier to fish a wire around the whole windshield and dash than getting this to work. However, if you are good at this kind of thing, this would be the way to go.

Confirmed this adapter works with a 2016 Cayman. Made installation of a dash cam a breeze and allowed for a super clean install. I wish it was switched power only, however.

Saw this in my feed and picked it up to hopefully make a clean install for a radar detector or dashcam but it's taken me a few weeks to get the time.I have a 991.1 turbo s and the hardest part of the install is getting the light panel and plastics down. You really have to know where the clips are and pull quite a bit harder than expected.That said, this particular adapter and goes into the interior light panel for power.I like the fact that it's USB and comes with 3 cords (mini, micro and usb-c) or if you have something else like a usb-uniden connector you could plug that in.SUPER simple to install once you get the panels off without breaking them and it's pretty minimalist so also fairly easy to put back together, just a really clean install if you take your time....and even then it's like 15 min to do this.There are various different adapters depending on what you want to plug it into (switched or always on power, etc.) and I'm going to pick up another dongar adapter and see if I can plug it into one of the other ones and get both radar detector and dashcam going. I think I have room in the overhead area but it is pretty crowded.This is SO much nicer than a fusebox tap or pushing pins into existing connectors.100% recommended.Hope this helps!

For just a few wires, this is a bit expensive. But it serves its purpose.

I installed this in a 718 to provide power *after* the ignition is switched off. Their other product, the Keyway 1, is for ignition-switched power. Other than where each plugs into the car (dome light vs another plug an inch away) they're basically identical in installation and look.Plan on 30-60 minutes for installation. It's easy to install with the included plastic tool and an old credit card. This is a small amount of typical trim/plastic removal, and I followed their posted 718 video to walk along. If you need to stop half way through and drive the car w/o the dome light panel attached, as I did, you'll get an air bag light on the dash which goes away as soon as you restart the car with the dome light reattached. Fishing the usb cable through to the windshield marked the half way point for me.Putting the dome light panel back on was bit of a tight squeeze, and although it is electrically/functionally possible to have both the Keyway 1 and Keyway 2 installed at the same time, IMO space limitations means you won't be able to put the panel back in place. Please post a review if you happen to get both installed! :)Power-wise this worked perfectly for a dashcam I have. Plugging my cell phone into it as a quick test, it's actually putting out quite a strong charge! My off-hand estimation is it's certainly more than the factory arm rest usb provides.Don't hesitate to pick one up!
