When creating the aperture it may be helpful to use the sleeve of the inside letterplate as a template to trace round with a pencil. A junior hacksaw can then be used to cut around the pencil line to produce the correct size cut-out. A hole can be drilled inside of the line to provide a starting point to cut. Fit the plate with nylon brushes to the inside of the door and the other plate with weatherseal gasket and rubber flap bumpers to the outside of the door.

Excellent, what I expected
I needed a new letter box because mine old broke down (over enthusiastic mail person). First one arrive after two days but it was broken out of the box and I had to returned. I suspect Amazon's shenanigans since it wasn't first time I received product that was broken and looked like it was repacked and just sent to the next customer. I needed to reorder it again. It arrived again after two days this time in working order. I'm very pleased with the product as it is. It is high quality product that looks stunning on my door. Over all I'm very please with the way everything was handled.

Very heavy duty
This seems to be very strong. Around twice the weight of the broken plastic original supplied by Everest with the upvc front door. Flap opens really wide, so hopefully more challenging for delivery people to break - time will tell. Fitting involved a lot of swearing. Top tip, if you are installing this on your own, use a lot of duct tape to hold the flap open against the door. The spring on the flap is very powerful, and needs to be held open while screwing the front and back together. The screw holes need to be aligned very precisely by feel only, so holding the flap out of the way makes all the difference. Very happy with it after installation

You need a hacksaw
Well built, lovely satin chrome finish, adds to the aesthetic of your front doorBut make sure you have a hacksaw to cut bolts to your door size
