Fun with basic commands. 5 year old loves it.
This robot has a really nice look to it that immediately made my 5 year old cousin want to play with it for hours. The remote control is easy enough to figure out and the basic commands are followed well by the robot. There was some learning curve to getting it to take voice commands and where to speak to it for acceptance but it was quickly figured out. I would say that the basics for this robot are easily obtained and he was playing with it within a short period of time, before frustration set in.The robot only works on hard surfaces so if your house is fully carpeted, you might be limited to the kitchen or outdoor areas. Battery life is moderate, but given the amount of draw for the robot, not bad at all. Recharge takes hours, so your child will not be able to continue play for some time. It is fun for them to be able to use the robot without the robotic features though, as it is cool looking and has a lot of imagination to it. Without the electronic features, you are able to use it on carpet or other surfaces as well. My cousin played with it both ways. The most complex STEM features are a tad bit complicated to master and once mastered, repetitive, so the toy becomes more of a robotic one with some voice commands and a cool toy in general. I would still recommend this toy for this age range because he remains interested in it for a long period of time, and over time, which is hard. 7/10.

Hit at the Birthday party!
This great little robot was the hit of the birthday party for my grandson! There was almost a brawl with all the kids wanting to get a turn. It is a quality item with great features and a cute face.

Not for 8 year old
Got this thinking my 8 year old would like it. It’s huge and kinda feels babyish for him . The thing wouldn’t stop taking right out of the box in my honest opinion I feel this is for way smaller children. Just not for us .

Battery lasted 25 seconds
The first charge lasted about 10 minutes. The second one I tried to time.. it took 25 seconds before it said he needed to be charged again.
