Knightsbridge JB0010 Extra Large IP66 Weatherproof Enclosure in Grey

I initially bought another brand but did't use it as it seemed flimsy. This one however is quality, sturdy and easy to use, am very pleased with it.

Good product, easy to sit and drill knockouts, space for terminals and wiring.

I've used these before and will do so again, on the grounds that they're not only very good value but are rugged, well finished and one of the most aesthetically pleasing designs for small outdoor enclosures that I've yet to find.That said, I've found them a pain to fit since:- The case is so thick and robust that the scribed knockouts can't actually be knocked out but need to be drilled with a hole saw- Once drilled, the weatherproof "wells" in which the rear mounting screws fit obscure access for fitting locknuts to any cable glands entering from left or right. These can only just be forced in, which would have easily been avoided by moving the mounting points just a few mm further in board- The captive cover screws are far more difficult to tighten properly and evenly than I would have thought possible, given their designI've yet to find anything better, imo, at this price point so will continue to use them where appropriate but if you're reading this Knightsbridge, some improvements to the design would be welcome.

Great value medium sized weatherproof junction box.used these on my project to get power to the shed, will easily allow two electric cables to be joined using Wago type connectors without having to shove wires into the corners.Has a weatherproof IP rating, seals seem secure enough. No sign of water penetration but would advise some extra sealant around any incomming conduits

I use these for many projects (usually involving low voltage electronics or cable splicing) and really hate spending good money on project enclosures. However, I have learned there is absolutely no point in buying cheap alternatives from China.These Knightsbridge boxes are solid, made from proper plastics and will drill easily (but with care). The lid has proper rubber gaskets to make a good seal. I have used these outside and have had no problems at all.You can buy the same sizes from China for about 1/3 of the cost but they are just a joke and so flimsy that a seal is impossible to achieve and no protection would be afforded. Conversely, the Knightsbridge boxes are stiff, glands fit properly and they inspire confidence..

I intended to use this to to keep the plug of my outdoor lights dry as the plug itself itself is too long to plug into an outdoor socket. This was the perfect size and has plenty of cable entries on it. The only problem was, when trying to push out a cable entry with a screwdriver the box cracked leaving a 4 inch crack rendering it useless. I went to screwfix and bought the same size box, better brand for cheaper and I'm now using that instead.

This is a quality product which when screwed to a surface though the rear holes provided and then sealed with the caps also provided remains waterproof. My reason for the 4star rating is that i would prefer the rear holes not to be predrilled when using as waterproof box not fixed to any surface (as when wiring garden lights for example) so there would not be any failures in the ip rating should a seal be loose or damaged or simply drop out while making the wiring connections. Holes could be drilled out as required by the customer when fixing to a surface.
