Shoddy, but after time-consuming soldering and taping work 60% of the time, every time.
After a major toil fitting these they do look good, I do have to be cautious wither though, safety wise. The power adapter is very touchy and I had to open it and bend some parts on the receiver box so the power would even go through. Not safe or what I paid for. 2 parts were not even soldered onto the circuit. The less are good however the sticky side couldn’t stick to Andy thing and now hang down where I put them up. I even had to tape them to some places. The connectors are very badly put together at weird angles causing some viper wiring to be left exposed... yet another tape job.All in all I’m happy with it now but I had to put in an awful lot of unsafe work to get them to work (lest I nudge the receiver box).My recommendation for people that do not have experience with electronics (fitting and soldering) is buy something else or expect terrible quality.

A good starting kit
Seems to be good entry-level for DIY LED work. The packaging is well done, and some info is given in the basic manual sheet. The LED build quality seems OK, but if you have any issues such as bad colour response, it's worth checking the solder connections. I found on one of my reels that the red LED setting was actually 100% green LED on, with the red just barely turned on (this would cause both reels to do the same fault when chained). I felt each connection (every few inches or so, should be easy to spot) and the faulty one set back to 100% red only once I cut and resoldered it.The remote does seem a little flimsy, you can feel it give slightly when pressing buttons, as a result of the thin plastic used. It did come with a battery installed, as some other buyers said this was not the case with theirs, but worth checking the plastic sleeve has been removed first. I found the directions for the DIY settings to be a little less specific than they should be; I thought mine was not working till I realised the arrow buttons for each colour amount should be held down to get the right levels, as just a simple press does nothing, unlike the general brightness button. The range of settings and control is otherwise very good.I can't comment too much on the suitability of the power supply. A lot of resources do show that this kind of supply can only run one reel at maximum, with the second being dimmer if connected to the first, plying it will be running at maximum in this state, which is not advisable and may cause the overheating issue some others have commented on. In honesty, I didn't notice too much of a difference in brightness when both reels were connected, just very slight. Websites advise on a few things, such as better power supplies and connecting strips in parallel, rather than daisy chaining. I don't intend to use the whole 10m, have the LED's at full power, or have them on for hours, so I don't feel too qualified to say much further than to read up on using strips as much as possible. The kits included connectors are a good start, but if you're planning multiple strips expanding over levels or other areas, such as a bookshelf, it's well worth getting some rgb cable and cable-to-strip connectors as well.

The actual quality of the LED strips seems reasonable. The power supply, in my opinion, doesn't seem strong enough to power both strips to their full brightness. I can see the brightness decrease, as the length increases. The specification says 60W/Roll/5M. The power supply is 12v 6A and so the wattage should be 12 x 6 = 72, adequate for one 5m reel, underpowered for two. I will be buying a LED amplifier to improve the brightness.

Order a better quality set
Be carefull with these I ordered mine a little while ago but only got round to putting them up about a week ago all was well i had them on for about 30 minutes until there was a very load bang and all my electric blue and they now no longer work it might be worth spending a few more pounds on a better quality set

My son bought these with his Christmas money and all seemed well. A few teething problems with controls but they worked and looked great. However less than 6 months later they don't illuminate at all. He's devastated and according to Amazon the closing date for returns was 1 month after purchase. Would have expected longer than that as they are supposed to last for 5000 hours!

A great set of RGB lights
I picked these up in order to rig up some afterglow lighting on my desk as part of my setup. The lights work great and look very nice especially in the dark. The pre-set colours look fantastic and full RGB control is possible in order to get the exact right colour you want by adjusting the red green blue levels independentlyThe only negative is that the adhesive is not the best, ample pressure needs to be applied in order to get them to stick permanently without slowing pealing of. Roughing up the surface before sticking can greatly improve the effectiveness of the adhesive as well.

Difficult to use the connectors
Good product a little bit difficult to manoeuvre through small holes and can be difficult to use the connectors as both ends must be touching every pin perfectly for any light to pass through also can be a little fiddly.I used them for lighting in a small cupboard which they do over and above what I expected

The packaging is fantastic, very professional with everything neatly and securely wrapped, easy to set up and looks fantastic
I don't often write reviews but I was very pleased with this product, the packaging is fantastic, very professional with everything neatly and securely wrapped, easy to set up and looks fantastic, the LED's are very bright. My one niggle would be that you have to point the remote at the controller as the signal is fairly poor, but it's not something you would change often so it's not a big deal.
