Brilliant!
I bought this for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas, and she loves it! It has proved to be the most enduring of all her Christmas presents. She refer's to it as her "Nina set" after "Nina and the neurones" on Cbeebies, primarily because of the safety goggles in the set. She regularly pesters me with "Please can we do an experiment!".I like the fact that it encourages thought provoking experimentation with substances found in most kitchens, such as bicarb, vinegar and food colouring. This also means that you can repeat experiments as often as small child wishes. The contents are solidly made, bright and colourful, and easy to use by small hands. The only sour note, is that the tweezers are difficult to use, even for adults, being too bulky and stiff to grip even pennies.

Chunky and durable first science equipment
Well made kit, and comes nicely packaged, but there isn’t really a lot to it once you ve taken in out of the large box. The experiment cards are ok but do you really need an a5 wipe clean card saying go outside and find some insects to look at with the magnifying glass? Worth noting that you do not get any of the materials required to do the experiments, but these are easy enough to find, bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, food colouring etc.The test tubes and beaker look great with a bit of water and food colouring. The large diameter of the tubes makes them easy to hold and the kids spent ages mixing the colours and seemed very happy with it. The safety glasses went down well, but you will need to buy your own lab coat to complete the full scientist look.Overall a great kit to have when the kids announce they want to do some “science” and this certainly encourages this. It is a bit expensive for what you get, but what’s there is well made and should last a long while.

Science set
I purchased this product for my Granddaughter's birthday and she absolutely loves it. The instructions are simple and easy to follow and I am going to order another set for my Grandson later in the year. We all had great fun carrying out some of the experiments. I thought once the experiments had been conducted it would become boring but we are now doing them all again with our own variations and it is brilliant for making the little one think and a great way to involve the whole family. I have one small query though. On the box and in the list of contents there is a purple coloured stopper for the large beaker which was not in our box. I wonder if you would send me one please. This would make it perfect and I have no problem recommending this science set to anyone.

Great little set
Lovely set with child friendly equipment. I especially like the large colourful cards that tell you pictorially what you'll need so the children can get equipment ready and then really clearly what else you'll need so you can see what you've got in the house ready to go. Instructions are really clear. It's a fantastic little set for children keen on science.

would definately recommend
A great gift. I bought this for my 5 yr old. Although it doesn't come with a lab coat it didn't phase him, he knew he should wear his coverall that we use for crafting and the mat to lay underneath before we started. The equipment is really good quality and sturdy. Part of the fun was finding the ingredients that we needed from the kitchen and putting other ingredients on a shopping list to do the other experiments. We've done lab tests before but having the right equipment makes it feel more like science than just playing. There are plenty of other ideas out there for experiments to make more use of the equipment when you've finished the ones on the cards and if your child likes this then I can recommend the Usborne " big book of science things to make and do". So on the whole top marks!

A good basic beginners kit
A good basic beginners kit. My grand daughter enjoyed completing some of the experiments with a little adult help from me. Instructions were clear and she was able to follow them on her own. I opened the box and looked at the experiment cards before giving it to her I order to purchase items needed to do the experiments. Essential as she wanted to do them straight away.

Great to keep the kids busy
I got this for my 5 year old and his 3 year old brother joined in to, it is such great family fun and learning, it really keeps kids engaged while learning. You don't need many items for the experiments and it's mainly stuff you have around the home.

Ok for Younger Ones
I was a bit disappointed to be honest. I bought this as a gift for my six year old son at Christmas as mist chemistry sets are for 8 and over. The equipment is good quality and nice and chunky for younger children. However, the suggested "experiments" are really basic and quite boring, plus there's only ten of them! Also, hardly any explain action is provided as to why the chemicals react they way they do for each experiment which limits the learning potential. We had most fun when we ditched the suggested experiments and just started mixing stuff together! Definitely make sure you have bicarbonate of soda, lemon juice and food colourings in the cupboard before you begin.
