I recently purchased the RJ45 Crimp Tool Kit with CAT 6 connectors, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This kit was SUPER cheap and incredibly easy to use. The instructions provided were clear and simple, making the whole process a breeze. I had no issues making my connections, and the tool worked flawlessly.Although I didn't use the tester (it requires a 9-volt battery), the kit still helped me hook up the unfinished ethernet cables for wired hookups in my apartment. The best part? My download and upload speeds doubled compared to what I was getting wirelessly. Overall, this kit is a great value for anyone needing to set up their own ethernet connections. Nice to have a new skill unlocked and not break the bank.

Perfect for what I need it for. The blade is OK material and it would last for a while depending on usage. It did come with replacements so that's a plus. Recommend for a simple job.

I have a slowly growing collection of ethernet cables that are unreliable and it seemed likely it was due to the connectors, so I purchased this. Some of the other user videos here were very helpful. After getting the knack with the first cable, I did two more, and they all tested well. Not having to buy 3 new replacement cables already paid for the tool.It feels solid in my hand and when I squeeze it to crimp. I would do one end, then test the cable to see that the first new connection was good, and then do the other end. That way, if it tested bad, I could be certain which end was the problem. I'm sure I'll have use for it again down the road. People who do this kind of thing for a living would probably opt for more expensive tools, but for my use case it's a very good value.

The tester does tell you when some of the lines are not in order but it does not tell you which ones have to be swapped. For example it shows an error but it des not say changed number 3 and 5 to correct the order. Not 100% useful. I would give 4.5 stars but this is not an option here. The other tools are excellent.

This kit was exactly what I needed! It includes everything for making Ethernet cables with male connectors, and I really appreciate that the wire stripping tools are included. In my case, the network wires in my house weren’t terminated, so this kit made it easy to get the job done.Once I crimped the tips on—BAM—we were surfing the net in no time!Pro tip:To straighten the wires before inserting them into the connector, line them up evenly and trim them at the point where they start to twist. This helps them slide straight into the connector’s lanes without a fight.

The cable checker burnt out and almost caught fire the first time I used it the crimpers are well built but for whatever reason don't seem to cut the ends very well I've already changed the ends on my cat5e cords several times but to no avail this is one of those items where the main item the crimpers are strong and well built however the blades are not very sharp when they cut the wire coming out from the pass-through clamps I followed the diagram and I just can't seem to get it to work so it might be human error there however the cable checker is pure garbage!! Which defeats the whole purpose because without that checker you're going to be crimping back and forth and not knowing which end of The wire is improperly crimped!!

Tool is very easy to use and seems well-built, appears to produce consistent, correct crimps. Tester is confusing to me. Rather than try to interpret the tester pattern of blinking lights, I just I test the original cable first, take note of the tester signal in original condition, then make sure that signal is duplicated with the shortened cable. I’m not an electrical or network guy, barely getting by….I’m using this to shorten excessively long RJ12 (6-wire) cables. So I had to buy connectors separately.

Like most things you should practice using this. The electrician that wired our new house was not familiar with CAT 5/6 installation so even though he routed "some' cable, it was not long enough or he didn't attach it to the wall plate (which was RJ11, telephone connectors instead of RJ45). I was an automotive tech for most of my career so I figured I could figure out how to put 8 wires in a connector. I recommend that you take a length of CAT and use some of the included connectors to practice prior to doing the real thing. It took me 3 tries to become what I felt was proficient enough to get into the tight areas I needed to to terminate the cables. A couple tips, give yourself plenty of trimmed wires to work with, a couple inches if you can, it all gets trimmed off once you finish the crimp. That makes it a lot easier to keep the wires in the correct order. I also found it beneficial to trim the wires evenly once you are ready to put them in the connector. Once they are in order some cross over others and are of a different length, if you trim them to the same length, they go into the connector easier and find the right holes where they belong. Tool worked great, tester worked like it was supposed to and it was a great value in my opinion.
