The best cordless (plunge) router on any platform.
This router is so extraordinarily well built and ergonomic and POWERFUL and well you get the picture. 1/4 or 1/2 inch bits are no problem. Includes straight edge that WORKS. But mostly, I had no idea until I held it - wow. It is miles better than my brushless makita lxt in everything but especially build quality- the dewalt 20v is cumbersome and has a badly located switch. This thing is the best of its kind. 10stars you wont regret it.

Incredible nice cordless router
This is an incredibly nice and super high-quality cordless router. All the latches and the plunge mechanisms are very smooth and no resistance or uneven spring tension. The plunge mechanism works so smooth. It’s very nice. Also, this thing is very comfortable the way the handles and the switches are oriented And the power on this is amazing for a cordless router. It’ll plunge deep into with a half inch bit easy super awesome tool definitely worth the money very high-quality.

Power at the right price
I already own several Metabo HPT multivolt power tools and have been very pleased with them. This router is light weight and a beast of power. I have no concerns about performance and durability based on my experience with other Metabo HPT tools. I love the cordless feature, especially when using with dust collection, as power cord and dust hose tethered to a router makes for a cumbersome experience.

Not powerful enough
I liked it was light. However has no power and big 36v battery dies real fast. Some tools I'm finding just can't be substituted with battery tools. Went with a corded Hitachi router. No more problems.

THIS is the router for you!
As a career woodworker I use routers all the time, I had previously bought a corded Bosch router kit but didnt like it that much- mainly the power switch was not near the handles and I have to reach up and around to fumble the switch. This Metabo cordless is fantastic, I bought it after using a co-worker's unit and seeing how much power it has etc.It came with a bunch of accessories as well as a set of insert guides. The ergonomics are perfect, the power switch is right there on the handle as is the lock, it takes a little getting used to the switch and locking sequence to start and lock it on, but I'm really liking this kit!The charger charges the battery FAST, it's a good sized battery but the router uses a pretty fair amount of power out of it, so depending on your depth of cut and size of router bit and feet travelled, the battery will drop from 4 bars to 2 pretty fast. I used a 1/4" wide slotting bit cutting about 12 mm deep in poplar, running the router down 10 feet per cut, and 4 cuts for each of my projects, so 40 feet total. I stopped to readjust the boards after 2 cuts (20 feet) and the battery was about 2 bars, so I stuck it on the charger and in about 3 minutes it was back at 4 bars!I would still suggest getting a second battery if you use the router like this for an extended time and let the 2 share the load and have one fully charged at all times to swop out as needed.I will probably get a second battery, in any case, it's SO nice not having to deal with a stupid power cord!!!!Other than that, the router is low profile which gives it some nice stability the taller ones can lack, it's SMOOTH, it has a 73db sound level at just free running which is very tolerable, of course cutting with ANY router will increase the noise level, but this router itself adds very little TO that, being it's only 73db itself.Time will tell on longevity etc., but I'm really liking this kit and I'm happy I purchased it!
