Okay, this might sound silly, but I purchased the shade to protect an outside low-voltage transformer for landscape lighting. The transformer was installed under an area that gets rain water dripping from the house roof. Moving the the transformer was not an option. The rain shade fit perfect and not only protects the transformer, but also helps to disguise it from being just a black box. With a little ingenuity, I installed the photo-light sensor on the side of the shade. I painted the shade to match the house color. Also, it survived Hurricane Irma here in Southwest Florida. It is very sturdy and well constructed. I'm very happy that I was able to find something that met my needs.

The product seems very sturdy, and was easy to install on stucco wall. The black underside (which reduces glare) was a key differentiator compared to other competing products. It fit my Google Nest Outdoor camera perfectly!

I had to cover an outdoor Dahua dome to keep rain off, so I picked this unit up. It's done pretty well. My only gripe is that it's bigger than I need it to be. I'm pretty sure Hikvision and Dahua domes are the same size so it's not that, it's just large.If I run across a smaller one I'll probably swap it out and use this one on a less conspicuous outdoor camera where having a huge cover won't look as out of place. But for now, it keeps the drops off the dome so I'm good.

We’ve been searching for an ‘awning’ style shade for our Ring cameras that were exposed to the elements. I’m so happy that I found this product. It’s exactly what we needed. It shades the camera from direct sunlight, provides protection from rain/snow and most importantly, it’s matte black on the interior so that it doesn’t create light reflection from the camera’s lights/night vision. The install was extremely easy and took approximately 10 minutes. The product also has a thin weather strip where it attaches to the house to ensure that no water drips behind it. Very well designed and overall great quality. If you’re looking for an awning/shade for your exterior cameras, I highly recommend this product!

I purchased this to cover an exterior camera that was rated to be weather resistant but not water proof. Recommended installation was under a overhang where it would be shielded from direct exposure.This shade was extremely easy to install. No hassles and no fuss.If anything, it would be great if it were just a little deeper, but o have no complaints at all.I’ve included a picture taken after a typical Florida rain storm that shows the wet rains had and the dry camera .

I bought this to cover my doorbell camera on the side of the house where the sun sets. Don't want the plastics of my camera to turn yellow prematurely. It covers it well and creates a little shade. Way bigger than my wife likes -but getting the job done.

Finally had a chance to see how well this rain shade works in a serious storm. It works OK until the wind starts blowing. When it's raining and windy, the lens still gets pretty wet.I had one other problem with this shade. At night, the IR light reflected on the lower white edge of the shade. I was able to fix this by painting the edge black. This eliminated the reflection.

I installed this on the back of may travel trailer. It is the right size and provides good sun/rain protection. Here is the keys to success fun mounting:1. put painters tape in the area where you are likely to drill the holes (this will prevent spidering of the fiberglas2. place the dome low over the camera and tape on place2. check to see that you have good connectivity with your video screen and that the camera is not blocked3. mark the holes on the painters tape4. find a drill bit just slightly smaller that the screws5. using a variable speed drill running BACKWARDS AND WITH GENTLY PRRESSURE drill the holes (again prevents spidering)6. place a phillips bit in the drill and again running backwards just countersink the top 1/16 inch of each hole7. fill each hole with 3M 5200 adhesive sealant8. HAND screw each screw...if it is hard to do drill a bigger hole9. You are done. Have a beer.
