This building set has been designated intermediate, with recommended ages of 6-12 years. However, given that children grow at different paces, please use your own discretion. Ok quality blocks, they work with Legos, but Legos are far superior!
My son got these as a Christmas present and being longtime Lego users, I was curious to see how these would stack up. They do look similar to Legos and are indeed compatible, although the Block Tech plastic is visibly cheaper and the quality control is not great - some of the pieces were so tight I could barely get them on and some so loose that they literally fell off. The instruction booklet was sooo difficult to follow, even for an adult (especially compared to how simple Lego ones are!) and we were even missing a piece. I also didn't like how all the pieces were grouped in bags according to size instead of by what part of the project they are for. Overall I'd say these would be worth getting if you have no way to buy Legos or you plan to ONLY buy Block Tech (and won't have anything to compare it to) but otherwise stick with Legos.
