Not great for ice
I bought this hoping it would be able to drill through ice, but due to poor design, it really can’t be used without modification. There is a quarter inch gap around the pilot bit where the blades don’t reach, so after going an inch or so down, the ice surface simply hits the welded base of the blades and can’t go further. The blades are also extremely rounded so do not cut well. This may work fine in soil, but spend a little extra if you need to cut through ice.

Just received this item to use with drill to break up rock hard ground that shovel and bar just bounced off went down 8 inches pretty easily. Only 4 stars till I see if it holds up. Will let you know.

Good for planting bulbs.
This is a wonderful tool. I planted 85 flower bulb in an hour or so. Very sturdy. However, it did not fit my 3/8" drill chuck. I borrowed a 1/2" and it worked beautifully.

Solid metal construction was more than I expected, had 25 post to set around garden this simply drilled into the ground and churned it out like butter. I would buy this all day every day great deal.

Tried to use with my cordless drill. Bought a good quality bit to use. The head stripped first use. Had to send it back.
