First of all, this EASILY handles my 39 inch flat screen television, which is within the noted weight limit. No need to pay more for a heavy-duty model unless your television is heavier. It accomodates 39" nicely and could probably accomodate quite a bit larger as long as the weight is under 40 lbs and you measure the base of your television to make sure it will fit.The swivel platform is nicer looking that you can tell from the photo. The woodgrain is clearly visible through the black finish. It swivels easily and nicely. The photo makes it look curved but it is flat. It does not elevate the television very high, which is a plus. I haven't measured but it looks about 1/2" space under the platform to the table I've placed it on giving it a fairly low profile. I've got this set up on a narrow console table with narrow Queen Anne style legs, so I was looking for something light weight. The table didn't budge when I added this. No noticeable difference with the weight of the platform (which I checked before ordering). This works nicely with a console or sofa table. Measure if in doubt about the width.It swivels easily and stays where you turn it (unless the connections to your television are too short and pull it back).And it does not require any assembly! ::choir of angels singing here:: I opened the box, lifted my tv and slid it under. That simple. Makes me wonder why I didn't buy this sooner.

I am extremely happy with this swivel board. It rotates smoothly and is very stable. I am using it with a 42" LED TV. I measured the base of my TV first and then found a board which would comfortably fit it both in shape and dimensions. Since LED TVs are so light, weight was not an issue. The board has about an inch of spare room on all four sides in relation to my TV's base. Truly a perfect fit. Again, it rotates very smoothly and arrived fully assembled. I would highly recommend this to anyone. For added security, I used a QuakeHold! TV strap and was able to attach both the stand and TV unit to the wall stud for safety in an earthquake. I had no problems doing this, just make sure you give the strap a bit of slack so it can still rotate smoothly.

I put a 50 inch plasma TV that weighs 53 pounds on this stand. It works fine, just make sure you center the TV on the stand so that the weight is distributed evenly other wise I suspect you will wear out the swivel device prematurely. The quality is OK. The stand is a good deal at the current price of 22.00 dollars.

I have a 55" Sony LED tv which weighs 36 pounds and I needed a swivel to hold it, this item did the trick.It's basically a wooden type slab attached to a 12" circular swiveling plate, you can buy the plates separately right here at Amazon if you had an item small enough to fit, or if you wanted to create your own top for it. The attaching of the two pieces is secure and tight and there are no visible bolts on the top. The finish is a semi gloss and you can still see the wood grain though the grain is fake because the wood panel is probably particle board of some kind, I don't believe it's actual solid wood. There are rubber feet on the bottom which grip tight and protect the finish of the table on which it rests.The swiveling action is smooth, precise, and silent, it takes very little effort to move the swivel by pushing on either corner. I noticed no tipping hazard while the tv rests on the panel, the round plate on the bottom is large enough that as long as the tv is approximately centered on the device there is no danger of overloading one side.

I received this damaged. The item was also returned by someone else due to damage. The return slip from the previous purchaser was inside the box. There was an area where the previous mailing label had been cut off. The box had been re-taped and then sent to me. I bought it due to the claim that he could handle 60 lbs. The part that was damaged was the center of the base. It had cracked completely off. It makes me wonder if it really could have handled that much weight.

I love this little device, its just what I needed. Almost every day I turn my 32" flat screen TV from facing my bed to facing my makeup stand and watch the news as I get ready for work or to go out. It swivels easily and its very sturdy. I highly recommend this TV stand.

Works well and good cost, problem is the TV has to be very far away from the wall to use the full degree or turn you can. Which is unpractical for most people. Otherwise it rotates smooth and stays put.

This has everything I wanted. And-- it's so much nicer than I expected for the low price (and some negative reviews here on Amazon). Whatever the material it's composed of, it's got a terrific black finish on it and wouldn't shame anyone. It's sturdy enough to hold my 32" smart tv and dvr and I have all the confidence that it's not going to crack on me anytime in the foreseeable future. Although it doesn't seem to rotate a full 360, it rotates enough to suit normal usage. In other words, if you need one that rotates your tv for use in the kitchen and dining room, this probably wouldn't work. I don't see any reason why there'd be a need to buy the much-more expensive Convenience Concept alternative unless you're worried about weight restrictions.

Works as advertised. I have a 52" LG TV on a fixed base. Put the TV on this swivel base and works great. Word of caution - the base rotates 360 so add a felt pad or something to the edge at the back so you don't nick the wall when turning the TV. Otherwise, good product, great value.

I use this for my 47" TV and it's perfect. I'm inclined to think the measurements are for an old crt because no flatscreen weighs that much!Update: I had received an email about the size of the base but the question is gone, so I'll update here. I didn't remove the tv to flip the stand over, but it is a circle and the circumference is approx 12 inches.

The wood plate and metal platter are a nice blend of style and function. Although thin, it swivels smoothly, but is heavy duty enough to accomodate any mid size HDTV. The black woodgrain integrates perfectlly with my media bench and home theater gear. Should have bought it sooner.
