Worth the wait and then some
I have been waiting for this book forever and it did not disappoint!!!We met the queen in the previous book, Hemera. She is the quiet, thoughtful sister of Variety who was held captive for most of her life by the Northmen. Her life with them was far worse than anyone knew and because of that, she seeks and finds solitude in the forest. Everyone thinks she is slow witted and not worth the time but she is far more astute than they realize.Talon is a king in need of a wife and heir fast. His previous 2 wives failed to get pregnant while married to him but are now about to burst with their current husbands children. As we saw in the first 2 books, he is anything but celibate and yet none are pregnant. With enemies everywhere, much closer than he knows, he must assure everyone of his right to be king and his ability to ensure the line of succession. Two completely different people, one thoughtful and introspective, the other hot tempered, come together to find out who plots against the king and who they can trust. On the way they discover a love neither thought possible. Will they be able to live happily ever after? Will Talon be able to save his kingdom? Can he have an heir? All will be answered and it is an amazing story! We see the return of the Giantess, see that Bog has his own little family and other amazing revelations. Enjoy! I did ☺

GRIPPING SPELLBINDING PASSIONATE ROMANCE!!
Donna Fletcher is one of those authors I have placed on my auto buy read and reread, permanent keeper shelf and has earned a permanent place on my favorite treasure list. She is among of the best authors a reader will have the honor of reading. The King and his Queen is book 3 of the Pict King series. This book is a complete romance filled with unexpected hot, steamy passion, disagreements, mystery, laughter, tenderness, strength, and eventually trust beyond question.Forefathers of the Highlanders and King of the Picts, Talon, a fierce warrior in his own right, needs to find a queen. The only thing he required of his queen is to bear his heir. Increasing unrest among his people, enemies gaining numbers by the day and with war looming, feelings of fondness or caring between the two was of no consequence. He had absolutely no time for distractions.Hemera is very grateful to King Talon for taking her and her sister in after they escaped the Northmen. She doesn’t mean to annoy, vex, and test his temper at every turn. It isn’t her intention to test his patience constantly. One kiss changes everything, but withSecrets and traitors and enemies at the gates there are numerous obstacles they must overcome. When a person thinks of the number of authors today, there is a small percentage of those who have the gift or talent to capture the reader and make them feel as if they are watching the story unfold. Well-developed plots and characters, places, and long-ago times become part of the reader’s world and allow them escape for a while. They will read the last page, sigh, and want to start over from page one, or reach for another book by the same author. I highly recommend this book and anything else written by Donna Fletcher.

Great end to the series!
What a great end to this series!Talon is the Pict King, he is a fair and fearsome warrior who has done the impossible by uniting the Pict tribes, but to secure his position he must marry and sire an heir. He has married twice and neither wife conceived with him, nor have any of the women he frequently beds. His former wives have been remarried and are both pregnant by their new husbands, leading his people to believe that Talon is not able to father children.Hemera is the sister of Verity (the heroine in The King's Warrior), she was introduced to us in the previous book and portrayed as a little slow-witted. But in reality, she is anything but slow - she is incredibility observant and sees more than she lets on. She knows people think she is slow, but she uses that to her advantage. She annoys Talon more than any woman he has ever met, she does not obey him, she challenges him constantly and is more alluring to him than she should be.While awaiting the arrival of his new bride, Talon becomes aware of a traitor in his midst and he is shocked to find that Hemera is aware of the plot and is actively trying to find out who is involved. Slowly, Talon begins to see the real Hemera and his desire for her grows. They begin a secret affair and the more time they spend together, the more they want. But with so many things working against them and the misconceptions people have about Hemera, it doesn't seem possible for them to be together. The book completely wraps up the series and ties up all the loose ends from the previous books, but it could easily be a stand alone title. The writing is wonderful and the story flows at a good pace, there are steamy love scenes, a few graphic fight scenes, some shocking secrets, some lovely surprises and enough twists and turns to keep you reading and on the edge of your seat until the very last page.I highly recommend this book and can't wait to see what Ms. Fletcher comes up with next!

Awesome
But before I have my say....I hope thus is not the end of this series, please. Anyways, this like the ones before was a great creative plot. The characters well developed and throw in a few surprises to have a suspenseful read. I do RECOMEND THIS BOOK but first read the other two to enjoy the whole, story line. Thank u for a great read Miss Donna. Looking forward to the next one.

Tuahna!
Talon's story is my favorite out of the Pict King series! The characters are well developed and the storyline had me second guessing everyone. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it. But I highly recommend it! It's definitely worth the read. I wonder if Minn gets her own story?
