Great resolution for a 7inch monitor.

I've been using this monitor with a pi4 for about 6 months without an issue. The resolution is great for a 7inch monitor. I use a 9 inch ribbon cable for the hdmi, nothing special, but it works good.

Good info display

Aside from wishing that I could change the orientation of the screen as well as the resolution, this works just as advertised. To clarify, my wishes were not guaranteed in the description, just things I wish it had.

Well made Bare Board screen

It may not be obvious from the picture ( or maybe it is ) but these are a circuit board with a screen glued to it. None the less, these seem to be well made and work flawlessly. I can't immagine they be real great for gaming but for many other uses they seem to work well. I now own three of these and I find uses for them all the time.Examples:I have a headless server and rather than RDP, KVM, or a full screen and keyboard to debug, I just have a wireless keyboard dongle and HDMI cable always in the server. When I need, I just grab one of these little screens and the wireless keyboard and go to work.I also use one of these for a set of Raspberry Pis that are always on. Handy as a test monitor as well. They are kind of rugged for not having a real case around them. Don't push it too far though. I guess what I'm trying to get across is that they aren't really fragile.

Two monitors tested, both with major display issues

The media could not be loaded. Monitor 1:I received this monitor, plugged it to my Raspberry Pi and a constant flickering was seen on screen. While my phone’s camera didn’t capture it as I was able to see it with my eyes, some can be seen slower than it really was in the included video. Another issue I found with this monitor was a very weird vignette around the screen. I reached out to Amazon to exchange the monitor.Monitor 2:This second monitor didn’t have the vignette or the flickering but when displaying dark images I noticed weird bright spots around the edge of the screen. So I downloaded an all black image and made it full screen. As you will also see in the included video, all around the screen there are bright spots and some with a reddish tint, which gives me the impression of a damaged screen or as if it was magnetized. In both cases, the image quality failed because of the described problems. While the monitors didn’t have any connectivity issue, the main purpose of a monitor is to get to display images, and if these images are displayed with problems, then I don’t see a reason why to recommend such monitor.

Perfect - for the price, at least for Pi5

I'm very pleased with this display. I should have ordered one months ago, and I'll be ordering more.No issue with setup, viewing angles, the stand, or anything else. The trickiest issue I had was that I had an app opening with bigger resolution than the display and so I couldn't use the app properly. Ctl-Alt-LeftArrow (or right) resized the app and then I could use it. That's an OS issue, not the display's fault. Its power source is USB and thus from the Pi5 itself (I have the 27-watt Pi5 power supply).I have two use cases: basic monitor when I'm on the road and don't want to carry a big monitor (with more power requirements). And basic display without taking up much desk space. For those use cases, this is perfect, especially at this price.

Low cost HDMI monitor satisfies diagnostic role

This HMTECH 7 inch HDMI portable monitor is definitely worth the money. The device functions properly, provided the Raspberry PI video output is properly configured. I'm using the monitor for diagnostic purposes. It allows me to interact (in conjunction with keyboard and mouse) with my Raspberry Pi (Raspberry Pi4) easily and efficiently. I had to get a standard to micro HDMI adapter, set the RP4 video output settings appropriately (forcing/enabling HDMI output to enabled and output level) using a terminal/command line prompt, followed by a reboot of the device, before the monitor would display any video. Although small, the monitor adequately satisfies it's role as a diagnostic and direct input/output troubleshooting and commanding. This monitor really isn't adequate for use with gaming applications; it's way too small for that role. The biggest issue with this monitor is the fact that it is not enclosed. There are exposed electrical components on the back of the monitor, and I'm concerned that these exposed components might pose an electrocution risk or make the monitor too susceptible to inadvertent/incidental damage. The fact of exposed components should be disclosed/evident in the description of the product (it isn't obvious/clearly disclosed). Additionally, the monitor doesn't sit/fit securely into the base of the included stand.
