Red Hot Chili Peppers (Stories Behind the Songs) by Rob Fitzgerald (12-May-2011) Paperback

This book should be titled " What I think the songs are about but im not really sure. " by Rob Fitzpatrick. Terrible grammar, ham-hocked put together phrases, and for a hardcore chilis fan like myself, i know for a fact most of his musings on the songs are very far of the mark. Add to this pictures of Hillel and Jack with captions saying it is in fact John and Chad in the photos and vice versa.The amount of photos of John saying Hillel next to them really is quite insulting.Overall Lazy, slapdash and inexcusable. one star is being generous.

Good book for any Chili Peppers fan to pick up. A lot of it I knew but somethings I didn't.

This book is completely false in so many ways. The photos are labeled with the wrong people and it's very opinionated. This book isn't "What I Think About Every Song" it's "The Stories Behind Every Song" and quite honestly I would say only 1/10th of them actually has a legit story behind it. The rest is just what Anthony, Flea, and whoever else (depending on the album) did with the song. I'm very disappointed. Also, I've read Anthony's autobiography more than once and a lot of the history is false... They way they met in middle school is completely false and I guess it's just because I'm a die hard fan that this is truly depressing to me that I spent 10 dollars on a false and disappointing book. If you're going to go write an informational book and have it published you need to at least get your facts straight. Or just title it "My Opinions and Thoughts of RHCP and Their Music".

I have been a RHCP fan since BSSM. This book is a fun read. Anthony's lyrics are not as deep as Lennon/McCartney's but it is interesting to read the back story on the songs. ** spoiler alert ** To help you out I would say 3/4 of the songs are about either drugs or sex. I hope I just did not ruin the book.I am glad I bought this book. I am grooming my son to be a RHCP fan. This weekend I introduced him to Breaking The Girl. He seems to like it. BTW, what is up with Anthony's Princess Leia hair in the video? Maybe if I reread the book I will find out!
