The BEST sleep mask
I'm really pleased with this sleep mask- I've tried other ones and they didn't have everything I was looking for. I've read the reviews and it's important to note that the distinction with this mask is that it allows you to have full eye movement while sleeping, plus it blocks almost all (if not all) the light coming into the room. I live in Honolulu and it's sunny for almost 300 days a year- and my bedroom has floor to ceiling windows on two sides. Sleeping past 6:30AM was impossible- so I'm very glad I found this mask. I have a small face, got a size Small, and it fits perfectly. I'm a back sleeper, so I've had no issues with this mask; the website and The NY Times recommends that if you're a side sleeper you might not have as much luck with it (I'm surprised to read bad reviews citing they're side sleepers when it clearly states everywhere that it could potentially slip to the side if you're a side sleeper). Also, I should note, I have permanent false lashes, and this mask doesn't interfere with them at all. This is truly the perfect sleep mask, in my book.

Velcro sticks in hair
I like the idea that it doesn’t press against your eyes, but the Velcro does get stuck in the hair.

Did they change the eye cups?
-- Edit: Nidra sent me replacement masks, and these work great. The eye cups are not collapsing. --I've bought this eye mask nine times before, and never had a problem. I specifically like the molded eye cups, because it gives plenty of room for eye movement during REM. Generally the only problem I have, is that the neoprene will separate from the inner cushion. (Just do a whip stitch around the edge, when you get the mask.) However, on this last purchase- the eye cups keep collapsing inward, causing them to rub against my eye, which is causing blurred vision. Hope this is just a fluke, as this has been my favorite sleep mask in the past.

Non-breathable / Weird Sizing
I bought a standard sized mask on sale for $18.99 on the Nidra site and it was surprisingly huge and non-adjustable because the Velcro strip is so small, so I gave it to a neighbor because I’m a busy mom and didn’t want the hassle of returning it. My neighbor joked about how it felt single-use but I saw him a week later and he said his head fit it well and he liked it. Already $20 bucks in, I bought a small size on Amazon so I’d at least save on shipping. The mask fits much better, but I wish the Velcro was longer because it still could be a little smaller but I can’t have it on for longer than an hour or two without waking up dripping sweat around my eyes! It’s completely non-breathable. I usually only wear natural materials with basically everything, but because of the reviews and story of the company I really wanted to like this mask. I’m so bummed I’m out $40.

Great for side sleeping
I’ve used this brand for years, but this is the first one with this, smaller profile design. It just feels nice, fits better, no “overhang” of mask beyond your temples. It stays in place pretty good, but since I’m bald it does fall off before morning. The other ones I’ve had have lasted several years, though a little tattered. I’m hoping this one has similar longevity.

Does a decent job, synthetic materials make it too hot
This mask does a decent job blocking the lights but the synthetic materials make your skin feel like it’s cooking in the summer nights when you are most likely to use a mask. It’s waaaay more money that similar style and quality masks you can get at drug stores and other shops. The most I ever paid was 2.3x less at Walgreens, though usually I pay 4x less per mask. Disappointed for this reason.

Magic!
This is the best $14 I have ever spent. I always sleep better when I wear an eye mask but this one is the most comfortable and blocks the most light of any I’ve ever used. I wear lash extensions and most eye masks would squish them and make them not last as long but this mask protects them better that wearing no mask. You can fully blink and even nuzzle into the pillow a bit without smooshing your lashes. The strap might be a bit too wide as it rubs on the top of my right ear a bit, but I just tuck my ear under it and it’s fine: a very minor complaint compared to the major benefits of a super sound sleep.
