But I finally broke down and purchased this product and I am so glad I did
I had been postponing ordering this product because of the cost. It was not because I didn't think it was worth it, more because it seemed just pricey in general. But I finally broke down and purchased this product and I am so glad I did. I was looking at this because I found that we where spending over a thousand dollars a year on bottled water and paying the CA CRV only to give it away to the city for recycling. So I really liked the design and how small of a footprint it took under the sink. My only real complaint, if you can call it that, is the process before using the product. Having to cycle through 5 tanks I felt was excessive and took approx. 5 hours. But now my whole house is using this and they love it. Great product and tastes great. I will absolutely recommend this product to anyone.***Update (2/11/2016)***So there are two things that I find a bit disappointing, 1) When dispensing water from the faucet there is a high pitched whistle that it produces, my family complain of this probably the most. 2) The water never looks clear because of all the very small bubbles it produces. I would not lower the star rating because of this because it is more of a personal view than anything. Other than that I still standby my original comments.

Well designed RO water system
This is a very well designed RO water system, it is very compact and water taste is good. I would give it a five star if the faucet is stainless steel not chrome made from plastic. The filter replacement is too expensive(Set of Four Replacement Filter Cartridges at $189.95), if the company can lower the price for replacement filters, I would recommend it.

Best unit for limited space applications. Easy install.
It's small size makes it perfect for limited under counter space. Easy to install. I replaced the faucet included with a more "substantial" model with a wider base. But that was my preference and not required. expect to spend more money on the cartridges. There is a set schedule on replacing. More than other units I have owned That's one of the trade off's. The only negative is while filling you can hear the air expelling from the faucet air gap. I was told this would go away by the manufacturer. It doesn'tUpdate: the air gap faucet is a code requirement. That's the noise you hear other people mentioning. It's only while filling. There are internet work around ways to replace the back flow prevention (air gap) with a valve and cap it at the faucet.

works great after 2 1/2 years
we have had this product installed for about 6 months now and it has been working perfectly. Filters are still OK and do not need to be replaced so far. No leaks or problems. There is a little noise when it is recharging the water tank but very low sound level (for example you will not hear it if the dishwasher is running)UPDATE after 2 1/2 yearsWater filter still working great. I have had the water tested and the water still specs out the same as bottled water. We have changed the filters once.

Wet Your Whistle
The set up procedure is a PITA - but that't the case for any RO system you'd install. Some issues needed to be worked out - like water spilling though the airgap faucet weephole - but everything's fine now. My ongoing problem is the whistling sound that comes from the unit anytime you fill up. No one at the company was really able to help with this and I'm hoping it will eventually go away or end when we replace the filters. Otherwise, the water tastes fine and my ice cubes are clearer than with the GE unit this replaced.

Small footprint makes my stoarge space bigger
With the giant In‑Sink‑Erator EXCEL Evolution installed on my 30 inch sink, I was worried about if I have space for a water purifier and a trash can. I am glad that I find that Aquaphor RO-101 actually only take up less than 1/3 of cabinet storage space. I can even put a trash can and a few soap detergents and cleaning supplies. The water also taste pretty good. I have a whole house softner system. When I taste thewater coming from Aquaphor RO-101 vs the water that pass through my PUR water filter dispensor, I can tell the difference.Even Aquaphor RO-101 is on the costy side comparw to other water filtration systems, It is worthy the investment.

Nice Design, Distracting Noise
I purchased this unit to replace an old one that started making a lot of noise. I really like the design of this unit and it's ease of install. My biggest issue is the loud hissing sound it makes while running. Our TV room is next to our kitchen and I've found that I avoid using the unit prior to the evenings when we are in our family room as the noise is very distracting.

Great for small spaces!
We bought this filter back in April-- we have a small kitchen and this product has great reviews! It's been siting in our closet waiting to be installed... Well, we finally got around to installing it this past weekend and right before we were about to celebrate we turned the filter on and a there was a major leak in the top manifold. I've emailed with their customer service and they gave me links to instructional videos (which we watched in depth before installing) and suggested we check the drainage. I assure you, we've followed all specs re:installing, have checked and re-checked placement of the saddle and made sure there are no bends in tubes. We just received a broken unit. At $350 and the website promises a 2 year warranty, I hope they will exchange our filter. I will be super upset if we wasted $350.***update***IntelGadgets was great! They sent us a replacement filter and we got it installed without any hiccups. We've been using the filter since November 2016 and the water still taste great! The only reason I can't give a solid 5 stars is because the filter does make a hissing sound when it is refilling. I noticed other customers complaining for this same reason and I don't know, maybe this is common with RO filters?Regardless, this filer is great for the price and size. If you live in a small apartment you can't go wrong.
