No. According to the documentation on the site: •1" x 30": Loop Part 25" • Hook Part 5" • Diameter Range 5" - 8" • Circumference Range 15.75" - 25.5". You can also use some good old fashioned math. Measure the diameter and use 2*pi*R to get the circumference. So, if a 5 gallon bucket's radius is 6", the circumference would be 37.7 inches. The loop part at 25" would not make it around the bucket.

Q: Would these work well for fastening bicycles to a hich mounted bike rack?

No..I do use them to make sure my seat bag on my bike stays shut even if the zipper fails..but no theywon't hold a whole bike in place
