Works great out of the "bag!"
Using it to interface some old ICs via 8-bit parallel bus with my microcontroller. No issues. Great quality for the money.

Read the definition carefully
The definition states these are Quasi Bi-Directional - odd term - but if you look at the PIN circuit it is clear. While they are great for OUTPUT (assuming 1ma source or 25ma sink is sufficient) - as INPUT they are sorely lacking IMHO. The Input must be able to overcome the OUTPUT 1ma sufficiently to pull the signal low. And your code MUST write a HIGH to the INPUT pin prior to attempting a read.In short - I consider these ONLY for OUTPUT usage. They work as input but IMO put a strain on the driver circuitry.This is true for all PCF8575 or PCF8574 - so be careful when you use them.
