Q: Is this a solid piece of wood? No glue? Any sealers? Petroleum products used to seal or coat?

Mine is two pieces with a spline holding the two pieces together. I have owned this for a few years and only use mineral oil to bring back the finish. Only hand wash. I don't know if there is glue or sealers. Hopefully I have helped.

I would allow the oven top to cool before placing it on it. I keep my board on my granite countertop.

Q: What type of oil should I use on this board?

Use only food grade mineral oil. Any other oils will become rancid and ruin the board. Simply heat up a couple of tablespoons in a microwave to make warm/mildly hot. Then rub over the entire board. Allow to soak in and repeat on any "dry" spots as the board will soak in more in heavily used areas. After board has absorbed most oil, wipe off remaining.

The board is 1 inch thick, perhaps 1 inch & 1/16.
