Reyax RY835AI GPS Receiver for Raspberry Pi 3 Startux Aviation Kit

A bit more than I expected; I hear there is a newer version out with a bit better protection for the USB connector and some other improvements. Having the GPS output on USB and the 3.3v serial pins is nice but I wonder why they didn't bring out the SPI rather than I2C for the Ublox GPS. The three sensors are all on a single separate I2C which is OK but I see the GPS module has some provision for such sensors and wonder why they weren't integrated. Interesting that the power feed (if not using USB) appears to still be 5v despite everything on the module being 3.3v.The online Reyax manual is OK but a bit sparse on detail. You need to go find the datasheets for the sensors and there is also sample code out there if you look. Ublox has some good stuff on its website about GPS and its products, too. The Ublox utility is for Windows but is a good way to see how the GPS module works and control the numerous settings if you want.Startux is quite a project and also a good resource for this module. I got this to make a time source for a Raspberry Pi and it is getting me into all sorts of things like sensor fusion, micropython on the ES2866, NTP, Kalman filters, ... the water is quite deep if you care to explore!

Very Accurate GPS getting 1m accuracy in ForeFlight with my stratux build. One thing I wish was stated in the description is that this GPS comes with male header pins. I wanted to hard wire the GPS and AHRS so I had to de-solder the headers off the board.

Perfect module for experimentation and adding to a stratux ADS-B receiver package.
