Just as good as Smartthings
I've been waiting months to get more motion sensor devices ever since Samsung announced they would discontinue manufacturing Smartthings hardware. I bought a few Aeotec devices, trisensor and multi 6 sensor, but still felt like there was a gap for reliable basic motion sensor. We finally have a solution!I was hesitant to buy so early with a "new" product, but I can say I am very happy with the device right out of the box. Looks and feels just like my other Samsung Smartthings motion sensors and connects with ease. Had it up and running in minutes and noticed the improved response time in my automations compared to my aeotec device for the same application.Glad to have this option, maybe a little bit pricy compared to the old/original $24.99 Samsung price tag, but worth it to have something that lives within a Smartthings ecosystem.

Easy to set up and works very well
I use this motion sensor in an Alexa smart home system to turn some lighting on and off in a room we use for storage in our apartment. This is very convenient since the light switch for the room is behind one of the double glass doors one would open to enter the room. We have several Echo 4th gens in the home so this motion sensor was immediately found by Alexa and was extremely easy to set up and use in routines. It has been 100% reliable and I couldn't be happier with it. UPDATE 12/23/2024: The first one was working so well, I purchased a second motion detector to perform the same function in another room. These are SO handy!

Fast reporting and immediate response. A+
I'm using this with a closet light where the wall switch gets inevitably blocked behind some clothes and is mildly troublesome to switch on and off. Now, it is set to come on when motion in the closet is detected and stays on for a few minutes then goes off. Setup was as easy as it gets thru Smartthings and from motion detection to light on, the time is milliseconds. Smartthings shows motion state and temp. Very happy with it so far and highly recommend.

Responsive but Battery Drain is a Concern
The Aeotec SmartThings Motion Sensor works seamlessly with Zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant. It’s fast to respond and includes a temperature reading, which is a nice extra feature. However, as a new device, the battery seems to be draining faster than expected, so I can’t fully gauge its long-term battery life yet. It would also be nice if there were an easy way to adjust the dwell time. Overall, it’s a responsive and capable sensor, but the battery drain is something to watch.

Works perfectly with Smartthings
Aeotec is becoming my go-to for Smartthings integrations. You can do much more when a product is Smartthings capable than just Google and Alexa. So many ways to automate the motion to a light switch.I have them connected to multiple lights like the bathroom so during the day when you walk in it cuts on, at 12 am or 2 am when you walk in it cuts the bathroom lights on to 15% so you're not blinded by the lights going to 100%To solve the problem when your in the shower and it cuts off when it doesn't see motion before you set this routine up, see what the temp is before the shower is on and when the shower is running check the temp then create a routine in smartthings that when the light is on AND the temperature is above a certain temp, make the light stay on =)If the battery is at 5% or lower it will also send a notification to everyone's connected phone. If they could come up with a better price, they could be the go-to for home automation.

Battery Type Confusion
I have a bunch of these that I bought under the Samsung brand some years ago. This one is identical to the others. I've never had an issue with any of them. Motion detection speed and response time is excellent. I was concerned about which type of battery this one needed as the description mentions both a CR2 and a CR123. I was relieved when I opened this one up that the correct battery is a CR2, which saved me from having to stock another type of battery!

Works with SmartThings
I bought this to a replace a broken motion sensor that was discontinued. Works well with our smart home system. Pretty easy to configure and set up a routine (ours uses motion to turn on lights and lack of motion to turn them off).

Tried many sensors, this one gets my 5 stars
I've traditionally used the Samsung SmartThings sensors and let me tell you, they are battery hogs. Thus, you can't mount these sensors anywhere that is hard to reach (because you are replacing batteries so often!).This Aeotec sensor paired immediately with my Hubitat automation hub and battery level reports are still at 100%. The sensor is in my attic (collecting metrics before attic fans are installed to see the difference), so I consider that severe service (temperatures above 100f). Added bonus that motion will watch for any uninvited critters roaming around the attic. This sensor can report changes in +/- 0.2 point increments. I reduced the reporting period (via the hub) to help conserve power. I have since purchased another and intend to swap out all of my sensors with this one. Even though these are not recommended for outdoor use, I intend to put one on my porch (in an area that does not have direct exposure to weather) and see how it fairs.
