Just received confirmation from seller that this is unalloyed chemically pure titanium (grade II). That is wonderful news. This spoon is pure titanium. Titanium is so non-toxic it is even used for medical implants. With this spoon you no longer have to worry about toxic metals leching into your food and mouth. Also, this is a beautiful and classy spoon that looks great on any table setting. It is full size and it's shape is elegant. I am very impressed. (Note: I don't have any lab equipment to test the purity of the titanium. But, it seems pure and I trust the seller's detailed presponse. Most of the time that question goes unanswered or sellers won't know what grade even means. This prompt response is a very good sign. Also, it is worth noting that I detect no metal smell at all from this spoon.) I also recommend their fork. For camping titanium utensils, check out finesscity (someone lab tested them) and for pots I have been using snowpeak. Now I just wish someone would make a 4 liter pure titanium pot.Anyway a big thank you to Gretagrund for making an awesome product.

One of my favorite titanium spoons. These are made in Russia and completely polished. The point of polishing a titanium spoon is to make it easier to clean and I can't help but wonder why some of the reviewers expect a mirror polish. If you have large and small spoons in your silverware drawer this would be the size of one of the large spoons. This does have a little bit of flex, but it is titanium so it has a high modulus of elasticity and honestly it has been a non-issue. If you want a full size spoon this is a good choice. If want to eat mountain house, I would recommend the polished long handle toaks or optimus, not because this won't work, more because the squared off bowl and slightly longer handle work better. If you want ultra compact and lightweight look elsewhere, this is a full size spoon.

This spoon looks quite nice from 5ft away or more, close up however, it's covered in scratch marks, like it went through the dishwasher 1000 times with powdered detergent before I received it. It is quite light and feels fine in your hand, it is also rather flexible. It is not however very strong, and will bend and not return to original shape if used to scoop hard products like ice cream out of a pint. Overall I am disappointed with the spoon and am not sure what the point of it is. Its not strong, not nice looking, not small, but you can however, show off that you have a titanium spoon.

I thought this would be a good option for a backpacking spoon. I was pretty disappointed with what I got. It's a spoon, so you can only expect so much from the overall design. It has a handle, and a scoop on one end. The part where I was disappointed was the weight. This spoon weighs exactly 1 ounce, or 28 grams. That's about twice what the competitor options weigh in the same price range. Some people may not think that a few grams is important enough to take away 2 stars, but if you don't care about that, then why else would you ever spend 10-15 dollars on a single titanium spoon?I received this spoon at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

AMAZING! Wow! Love it. It feels like warm butter in your hand. Not quite as stiff as a steel one but definitely lightweight. Someone might mistake it for a cheap plastic one and throw it out. Definitely a personal item. The spoon is as wide as a AAA battery. Not for kids. Needs a thicker neck. The yellow dots indicate the titanium spoon and fork. The others pictured are there for comparison.

This is a very sturdy and good spoon. It doesn't rust or taste like metal. It's weatherproof as well. I really like this spoon. It's also lightweight so I can take it anywhere with me and it's convenient for storing as well. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good camping spoon.

This spoon (and fork by the same company) bend as easily as the cheapest stamped flatware. Just use regular kitchen utensils.
