For the price they were what I expected
I needed some melon cradles for my pumpkins (yes I realize that sounds weird). They did a great job keeping them off the ground so my pumpkins wouldn’t rot or get eaten by bugs. They are sturdy enough to last a few times, but I realize that they aren’t going to last forever. At the price, they fit my immediate need and I will be okay with replacing them later when they do eventually break. All the ones I have lasted through one round of pumpkins so far and are still usable except for one, but I’m not convinced the squirrels didn’t try to eat that one because I don’t remember it having holes in it when I removed the pumpkin. They stuck together at first making them a little hard to take apart, but overall they were easy to place under the pumpkins to keep them off the ground and they worked perfectly.

No more rotted melons!
I wish I had purchased these sooner. I lost some nice size melons to rot. I had them laying on a bed of straw and they still rotted. I've not had rot since I started using these. They are not very big but hold my big Jubilee melons. I use them for my cantaloupe too. Place them on the trays when they are small. They are made from a sturdy plastic so I should be able to use them next year. The only drawback I can envision is not being able to judge the ripeness by the yellowing on theunderside of the melons. At least they will have a chance to ripen with these stands! I ordered 1 pkg but may need more.

No melons yet.
No melons yet. This heat and drought. Where I live. Making for a very difficult growing season. Maybe, I actually get a melons some day. Quality and sturdiness seems fine.

Not for watermelons
May be good for a cantaloupe size melon, but too small for a watermelon. I tried it under 1 watermelon, & it caused that watermelon to crack across top.

Excellent support for plants
I bought these to prevent rot of vegetables in our garden. They are thinner than I expected but much more durable than I expected also. I’ve used these for my spaghetti squash, Butternut Squash and watermelons growing in to keep them from sitting in water. There is a punched hole in the center for water to run through so that it doesn’t sit on them.

Melon cradles
These melon cradles are very nice. I have them in my raised bed. They work great!

Looks like these will work.
I got these to put under my winter squash that have an edible skin. When they are on the ground the skin gets all bumpy and that part is not edible. I thought about making something to keep the squash off of the ground - a small wooden frame and then stapling a piece of plastic mesh to the frame. As I type that, I just knew that was too much work to ever have happen! ;-)So, I sprang for these to give them a try. They seem surprisingly sturdy! The plastic is very thin, but when I tested them by pressing down on them, I applied what I would say was a 10# weight on them, and they did not bend or flex. I think this is a case of good engineering allowing the mfg to make something very strong with minimal material and being able to keep the price down.My squash will be about 3-5# and they seem plenty strong to keep those off of the ground. By simply picking them up when you harvest the squash and putting them away for the year - I think that they will last many seasons. Please forgive my not the greatest picture - these are very hard to capture in a photo. My garden is snow covered right now here in WI, so this rating of 5 stars is based on my impression of the product, not on my actual use. Once I try these in my 2024 garden, I'll update this review.August, 2024I have used all 25 of these in my garden under my squash. They are easy to slide under and they hold the squash up off of the soil. These are winners - leaving my rating at 5 Stars.

Flimsy plastic
It keeps watermelons off the ground until they get big and then the melons just crush it.

Entire watermelon develops
The media could not be loaded. They work. Simply put they hold the weight and with the little supports allow airflow under the melon. A great little invention I just found out about this year.

They have helped keep my pumpkins, tomatoes and squash from rotting due to the wet soil.
The plastic could be a bit stronger to help hold the bigger pumpkins

Good Value
We use these for Cantaloupe, which of course are lighter than Watermelon. For our purposes they are perfect, re-usable, and good value.
