Heddolf ER294-1KA Long Range Gate and Garage Door Receiver

I bought this for a GTO Gate Opener (company is now known as Mighty Mule). You need the 314mhz to work this gate opener. The directions on both the gate opener controller nor the receiver unit clearly explain where to put the wires. A call to the GTO tech support got it straightened out: black and white to accessory negative, red to accessory positive, yellow to cycle. I rated this four stars because the directions could have been clearer and the wires could have come already protected. I would recommend picking up some 1/2" shrink tube as the wires coming from the receiver are loose. This unit about tripled the range of our gate openers.

This unit is actually 433.92mhz not 318 and works with the Ex-2201k long range transmitter. Works on multiple voltages and has either a momentary or latched relay, selectable by switch. Excellent range when paired with the matching transmitter. In my case over 850 feet through woods and down a hill. Highly recommend this unit.

Compatible with my Apollo gate controller without affecting my existing (car) gate remotes. Paired with the Heddolf EX220-1K remote transmitter, I can reliably control the driveway gate from inside my house 450' away. Installation went well. Study the instructions first, though. Fortunately, the receiver is robust and tolerant of the initial configuration errors I made. I needed to use pulse mode with the normally open contact for my gate controller to work right. I also had some trouble (old eyes) matching the code switches in the remote transmitter with the receiver. The good news is that setup and installation was so much easier than trying to replacing 600 feet of 18 year old buried control wiring (some under concrete...)
