The finest ukulele money can buy
I love this uke!! I have owned and played many mine guitars in my lifetime, guitars such as Gibson, Martin, Takamine. The finest guitars have a solid spruce top and usually a Brazilian rosewood back and sides. These woods are chosen by the luthiers (guitar an d ukulele makers) because of their inherent sound properties; different woods produce different sounds. The sitka spruce/rosewood combination gives a warm full tone with excellent base. It is always mellow and pleasing to the ear. This is why the finest guitars almost always use these.Cordoba is one of the few companies that makes a solid spruce/solid rosewood ukulele. There are many mahogany and koa ukes available. some of the worst sounding ukuleles use a veneered plywood instead of solid wood. The best cost $200 to $500. There are other features to look for: bone bridge and nut instead of plastic, for instance. Of extreme importance is the height of the strings above the fingerboard!! Too high will be difficult to play and hurt your finger tips; too low the strings will buzz against the frets when you strike a chord. Finish (gloss or satin), quality of fingerboard and neck matter also. Quality of strings matters greatly (my choice is Aquila). Tuning machines are important also; cheap ones will constantly let the uke go out of tune. The Cordoba 22C. It is hard to find a spruce/rosewood ukulele, but Cordoba and Oscar Schmidt both make fine ones. Hearing both, I chose the Cordoba. I paid $189. and it is very well worth every penny. Solid spruce top with solid Indian rosewood back and sides. The back & sides are truly beautiful. The gloss finish is perfect. Genuine bone nut and bridge. String height is perfect. Mahogany neck; rosewood fingerboard. It comes with Aquila strings. Quality tuning machines, silver with black button. Best of all is the sound this ukulele makes. It is warm, full bodied, no twang, a joy to the ear. It reminds me of my very expensive Martin guitar. Buy it and you will never be disappointed. You should get a Cordoba bag to protect it. I recommend a clip-on tuner for ease of tuning and precisely correct tuning. Eventually, guitar polish and cloth are needed. If you have a musical instrument store that carries Cordoba or Oscar Schmidt spruce top ukuleles, by all means, go listen and compare them to other ukuleles in the store. You will understand what I have been saying and will not be able to buy any other type. The Oscar Schmidt sells for $95, a real bargain; it sounds better than most $300 ukuleles.

Strident - all the wrong overtones
Sounds strident. Has all the wrong overtones. As you move up the neck, overtones sometimes compete with the original tone in an ugly way. I compared with an all mahogany Ohana which is worlds better. I'm using for melodic lines more than strumming. Returned the Coroba without hesitation.

Great value, beutiful look
I am just learning to play ukulele after teaching myself guitar. I got this ukulele because I have a Taylor 954 12 string with Indian Rosewood and Spruce top (so I call my Uku "Junior"). I am really enjoying the Cordoba. The combination of woods (Indian Rosewood and Spruce top) gives great sound. The volume/sustain ratio is excellent and the instrument is straight as an arrow (strings close to fretboard). This is a great value for the money: it's not a Kamaka but it also didn't cost $3,000 ($205).

OK, BUT NOT GREAT
The finish was not as nice as shown and the rosewood is almost black with no grain showing. In addition, there is a dull spot which mars the shiny exterior of the rest of the wood. The sound is OK, but not as good as other reviewers led me to believe.

Great finger picking uke
The Cordoba 22C is a very attractive and wellmade uke. It is made in the style of a guitar and that is good and not so good. When I first received it and strummed it, I was disappointed: the sound quality and volume were not up to that of my Kala Concert. My first thought was to return it, but when I tried finger picking, it's guitar heritage shown through: it excelled and it was so good that I kept it. The notes ring loudly and vibrantly. I now have two ukes which give me the best of strumming and finger picking. Sweet!

) This is a beautiful instrument. I'm enjoying it immensely
The first one I got had some imperfections and I sent it back for replacement. (Great service from Amazon though they had to receive the old one before they shipped the new one.) This is a beautiful instrument. I'm enjoying it immensely. Great, clear sound. Love the Cordoba instruments.

Cordoba 22B Baritone Uke
Mine came stringed/tuned as GCEA, not the standard DGBE baritone tuning and strings. It is listed that way but I just did not notice it. Sounds nice with the nylon strings, much like a guitar. I changed the strings to standard baritone DBGE, and I think I like the sound of the nylon strings better. Finish, looks and resonance are good.

Good Tenor Sound
Good Tenor Sound, the string quality is excellent. Well made and attractive. Being a new Uke out of the box I had to Tune Tune Tune but that is to be expected. Not a well known traditional brand of Uke, but it time it will be. I also purchased the matching Gig Bag. They make a happy pair. Nice addition to my what now seems to becomes a Ukulele collection.

Very good purchase !
Excellent instrument ! Although it sounds brighter than my Kala Soprano (warm tone), I really like this instrument. I got it fast and came top notch, as advertised. I really like the extra space on the frets for big hands and the way it stays in tune for a long period of time.I would recommend this uke to anyone wanting to have a distinct sound.

Beautiful uke, solid spruce top gives it an excellent sound, stays in tune and pretty good set up right out of the box. The frets need a little work but overall...I'm impressed.
