Boston Acoustics 8 Inch T-1000, T-1030, T-830, HD8, HD9, Woofer Repair Kit FSK-828 (Pair)

I purchased these for my Boston Acoustics T-830 speakers that I had from 1989. I watched the YouTube videos and it looked pretty easy & straightforward. The issue I had was with the glue. Once the glue makes contact it is almost impossible to adjust the cone to obtain that sweet spot so it doesn't run against the coil. I had to pry the foam off and luckily it did not tear! If I had to do it again and I would strongly recommend using small pieces of tape to obtain the correct position and then useing a few dots of the glue to hold it in place first. After that you can glue the rest & complete the repair. Other than that once I finished and allowed them to dry overnight they sounded almost new!!! Their Customer Service is very good as I had a question before I received the pot & they responded quickly. Would definitely recommend these and the company.

One side came apart and I decided to try re-foam. I watched several videos, planned well and dove in. Shipped quickly, instructions were concise. Saving the other side until needed. They get a workout almost daily, especially memorializing EVH since his passing. Loud and quiet, they sound great. With subwoofer. Go slow, be precise, worth every penny.

The media could not be loaded. I repaired some old torn foam with this kit and it worked beautifully. The glue takes a bit to dry which is great because it gives you ample time to position the foam just right. Highly recommend!

The foam surround on my Boston Acoustics HD9 8" passive radiator completely disintegrated, and I feared the speaker was lost. This repair kit from Simply Speakers was easy to use, and it returned my speaker to near new working order.I recommend watching the video several times to learn how to perform the repair. The technician did an excellent job with it. My repair was much easier and quicker than expected, and there were no problems. The kit gets the job done perfectly and I was able to start using the speaker again the same day waiting 1-2 hours between steps. It is nice to have an extra foam piece in case the other speaker's passive radiator foam surround goes out.For what it is worth, a local hi-fi repair company charges $50 to replace the foam surround on a single speaker which is not unreasonable, but using this product and being somewhat handy can save you money and time.

This is a great product. They fit the speakers perfectly and they now sound like new again. The hardest part was getting the old glue off of the cones.

The kit was easy to install. I found a couple of videos on youtube that helped. If you do this pay attention to the part about cone alignment. This was easy to do, but I missed it initially and it caused some rework.
