works very well and is quick. love the timer to let you know when it's done reading and it also stores the previous reading. very handy to have right next to the bed to take a morning temp. before getting up(for tracking thyroid). it's much easier than the old mercury thermo.

This thermometer read 98.6 the first time I tested it - great I thought. I then had been getting chills and I wanted to be sure that they weren't accompanied by a fever so I took my temperature and it said 95.8 - that seemed really low so I did it again, 96.2. By then I was freaking out (I'm pregnant so that seemed really scary) until my husband came home and took his temperature, it was 96.4, phew. You usually take your temperature when you're worried about something and I would never use this thermometer in that type of situation because I wouldn't trust the results.Two stars instead of one because it is easy to use and I like the digital interface.

I already have two thermometers that have proven accurate (but slow) over the years and was looking for something with a quicker readout. This unit does read out quickly--the sooner to get your wildly inaccurate, inconsistent readings. In general, way too low (oral). If I didn't already have something of known accuracy to compare to I'd be afraid I was sick!

The battery for the thermometer was so low in strength that it "died" the first night. I would think that on the new ones ordered, the battery would be new or at least fully charged. Disappointed; this is not the Amazon that I order from.

Unfortunately the thermometer I received doesn't work. The temperature reading is not accurate - way too low. I am returning.

Looks much the same as others. I can hear the sound when it is ready to read unlike my other older one which stopped working even with a good battery. I can presume it reads accurately but since mercury thermometers are unattainable I cannot compare and confirm.

Seems accurate about 70% of the time. Sometimes it reads 98.6 for everyone we try it on, and we can't all be that, but generally it seems to capture my children's temp spikes.

I bought this product to have for when someone in the household gets sick. It worked the first time someone was sick, registering a fever. Now after having it for less than a year, it will not register above 95 degrees orally. I even replaced the battery hoping that was the problem, but it is still consistently reading 95 degrees orally with a new battery. I'm disappointed in the product. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone who needs a working thermometer long term.
