I bought a set of three to reheat food in a microwave oven. I prefer these containers to heating on or in ceramic plates or bowls because the Calypsos have an insert in the fitted cover that allows one to open a small hole to allow steam to escape. Reheating this way avoids desiccating the food being heated. Food has not colored or stained the containers. We wash them in the dishwasher, but not the lids. (We always wash plastic lids by hand because sometimes they melt a little from heated drying if they're placed in the lower rack.) I've now bought three sets (magenta, green, and orange) for three different locations where we heat food in a microwave. I don't care about colors, but I want to keep a full set at each location without any mix-up. I haven't tried microwave cooking with them because I don't cook in a microwave; I prefer the gas stove. The description of a six-piece set is a little misleading, although the image is accurate. There are three containers with three lids. We like the size of all three, but we mostly use the two smallest ones for microwave reheating. We've used these now for some months and remain very pleased with our purchase.

I was tired of all my name brand clear microwavable containers turning orange, so I opted for the red set, and am happy to say, if they are staining, I can't tellThe smallest of the 3 is the perfect size for ramen. The mid sized is perfect for canned pastas and the large is, well large.Haven't had mold issues on the vent, but can definitely see how that could be a possibility? I always keep the vent open though and don't use them to store foods in the fridge, so I'll just remove the vent dial if I need to.Since I basically just needed something for heating up pastas and ramen, I'm not microwaving these for any longer than 2-3 minutes, so absolutely no issues with melting.I'm satisfied with this purchase.

My husband takes leftovers for lunch and these are perfect for the microwave and dropping on the concrete floor, lid fits snug. I use them for heating frozen veggies often and they don’t shrink in the dishwasher, like the color choices also

This was by far the wisest purchase I have ever made! I was so impressed with my first purchase over 15 years ago, that I now own 5 differently coloured sets, all exclusively for food storage use. All in all, an excellent product that serves me well.

Good for use in the microwave, i used it mostly for ramen. But when i tryed to use for fridge storage wasn't very good because it dosent seal because of the hole for steam

Versatile sizes. Great choice of colours and they work very well. Worth the money.

Very pleased with these containers. It’s nice they have a steam release dial in the top.

Fast service, very durable. They are a little small for what I need. But are very good.
