While I liked the descriptions of the water, etc, I would have liked a bit more detail on access points.

As always local knowledge is helpful. I live in the Augusta area and was disappointed because they mentioned two places on the savana river, but there were no helpfull items on how to get access to the river. Local knowledge of access points would have helped. I live 40 miles from the two areas mentioned, but with the price of fuel it can become costly to hunt down access points. Worst yet trout fishng from my area amounts to over a 120 mile trip with the price of fuel the cost savings of hunting for access points can become very expensive.The plugs to hire a guide are through out the book. Spending over 80 dollars in fuel and 300 dollars for a guided trip is a little excess. One can buy quite a lot of fish for that kind of money.

This is an outstanding book: a must-have companion for anyone who enjoys fly fishing. David Cannon's photos are breathtaking, and his description of fishing spots throughout the state of Georgia is exhaustive. He maps locations, identifies his favorite spots, and explains how to traverse nature to get to them. I have given this book at birthdays and Christmas. (And, I saved a copy for myself.) It's a no-brainer gift for those who love to fly fish, or dream of doing so.

Great book to read to point you in the direction of some of the good spots to fish here in the GA. Have tried a few and found the descriptionsame to be accurate and the information helpful. My review might be skewed since I am relatively new to fly fishing and any information helps but this book had a lot of information.I really enjoyed that he listed nearby waters to fish.

I read the reviews and they where good ,but I would have to say they did not do the book justice. This book is outstanding in the world of fly fishing. It is easy to read ,easy to follow and packed with very helpful advice for the beginner or the pro. I purchased this item on Amazon as I do many items
