GGMM D3 Battery Base for Dot 3rd Gen to Add Portability for Dot, White (Not Include Dot 3rd)

What I liked most about the GGMM D3 Battery Base for Dot 3rd Gen is its clean and simple design. I have spent many years re-engineering products to be user friendly, this design appealed to me right off. Truthfully, I did contact GGMM about what I deemed a possible connector problem. They re-engineered the improvement and replaced my first base quickly with no question. I have not found any issue with battery life; it suits my volume level and listening time. What I like most about the GGMM D3 Battery Base is that it allows me to move my Dot 3rd Gen around the house without interruption while un-plugged; I simply un-plug the wall charger, move and re-plug the charger without annoyance. The GGMM is smaller than most bases and I think that is a plus for the Dot 3rd Gen, after all isn't its small size the reason why we bought the Dot in the first place. Had I a need, I would absolutely buy more.

Couldn't be easier, opened the box, slid in the echo, pressed the button, wah-lah. Alexa woke up and worked like a champ. Plugged it in with the original power adapter and gave it a good charge, and the battery indicator reported full in a few hours. Now it's a portable echo.Tried the ibox one first, and should have believed the reviews...after two attempts, both would disconnect and restart if you ran the volume up over ~40%. This GGMM3 let you crank up the volume no problem. Get this one!

For starters this piece of junk doesn't even come with a charger (via 110 or USB)!!! The company who sells this particular product (which is made strictly for the Echo 3) tells you to use the charger that "comes" with the Echo 3 and guess what? IT DOESN'T FIT!!! The Echo 3 charger does NOT fit to the charging port of this product, it's too BIG!!! THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT HAVE ANY TYPE OF A WAY TO CHARGE IT!! SINCE THEY DO NOT PROVIDE ANYTHING!!!SINCE I was foolish and only read a couple of reviews on this product and didn't read ALL the reviews, I just assumed that it came with a cable or cord to charge it and NOT use a another product's charging capability!!Second, the battery life on it sucks!! After digging around my house for a cord that "fit" the charging hole, charged it completely up, it failed after an hour and a half.If I can I am sending this back!! Unless the maker wants to send me a correct charger for it?!Otherwise, my review here is to advise people to stay away from this product!!BE SURE AND READ ALL THE REVIEWS, SO YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TO PRODIVE YOUR OWN CHARGER CORD!!!NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!BEWARE!

The use of the word smart in the description is deceiving, this is NOT a "smart" device. The way it works is you have to charge in by putting the DOT on it and plugging the original charger into this device. So far so good. Blue LED's on the face of it show charging level. Once charged you must remove it from the DOT, if you do not everytime the DOT does something it uses the battery and the charge cycle starts all over. This will degrade the battery. Also this does not hold a charge very well, in 48 hours it will go from fully charged (4) dots to 3 dots - charge level indicator (blue LEDs front of device) without being in use. If this were smart you could leave the DOT hooked up to it and it would switch from battery to the cored charging automatically, sensing if ac current were present. This is for infrequent use and takes a bit of planning to use effectively.
