Received fairly quickly and works perfectly. Unit looks to be brand new and came with both brackets. Seller responded very quickly and politely with questions i had.Like many others here im using this in a homemade pfsense box. For my setup im using an old Lenovo Thinkcentere small form factor running an i3 with 8gb ram on a 128gb ssd with pfsense in a VM. Works flawlessly and holds up to my 350+ Mbps connection. I have time warner in California and test my speed regularly. This is also plugged in to a TP-Link 8 port gigabit managed switch serving my buffalo NAS and two other computers along with a Ubiquiti long rang AC access point. With sustained high-speed traffic (streaming and downloading movies on multiple devices while playing games for several hours) the heat sink does indeed get a bit warm but with adequate cooling that wont be an issue. Overall very satisfied with my setup.

I purchased a "NEW" card and the one that I received was obviously used, as it had writing on the card in permanent marker and a label from a label maker marking the ports on the card. That said, this is a great card!! Very fast and works as expected. I am using it for a trunked connection from my ESXi home server with multiple VLANs running over it.EDIT: Vendor contacted me right after I posted this review and gave me a refund for the difference in cost between the used cards they sent me and the new card I had paid for. I did not get this item. I got an analog, which was the HP version, found here: https://www.amazon.com/HP-412648-B21-PCI-Express-GigaBit-Adapter/dp/B000J3OPOUMine arrived in a bubble wrap...just a bare card. Really?Also, it would have been helpful to know that the card is a PCIe x4, NOT an x1.Does it work? I don't know. When I insert it, the software on the card tries to boot into some sort of OS instead of into my Windows 10.I am not pleased with the description, the substitution, or the lack of packaging, or the way it messed up the booting.

Works great with RHEL/CentOS with no drivers to install. My only complaint is that it didn't come with the half-sized slot guard.

No hassle, just plug and go, works on both windows and Linux straight out of the box. Tbh the hardest part was getting it to fit on the back panel of my case lol

I suspect these are counterfeit Intel NICs. The card I have received does not have a YottaMark of authenticity, is not detected by Intel's Driver Update Utility, and the installation of Intel ANS teaming software fails because it does not detect any Intel adapters.On the plus side, the NIC interfaces still perform better than the on-board Realtek GBE interface.

Ordered 2 at the same time:NIC 1 - installed on a OpenSUSE box (ASUS P5Q3 mobo) and it kills the PCIe. The computer doesn't POST due to no video card (since it is a PCIe card and the NIC locks the bus). Moved it to another OpenSUSE box (ASUS F2A85-M Pro) running FreeNAS under KVM. The PC boots but only 1 adapter is reported. Moved around the devices, removed all - still NG. Removed and returned to seller (seller provided return label).NIC 2 - seems to work in any of the 2 boxes. However, after about 2 weeks the 2nd box started reporting "PXE-E01: PCI Vendor and Device ID do not match" during boot. Updated the Intel Boot Agent and the error went away.Other notes, the 1st had some visible scratches on the bracket; the adapters came each in a bag but the low profile brackets came 2 in one bag - so I'm thinking these are probably salvaged/overstock items, bagged by the seller and therefore not tested they work (but you can't beat the price).

Picked this up for around $50, which is a steal compared to the $150 I've seen it sold for at other online retailers. Works like a charm, no special drivers or installation needed for debian wheezy. I just plugged in the card and the OS detected it immediately.
