(Thai with English subtitles) Fak is a young man who leaves monkhood to care for his ailing father. However, upon returning home he finds his father married to a beautiful woman many years his junior, who the neighbors call "crazy". When his father dies, Fak is left to deal with his attractive but unstable stepmother and the gossipy neighbors.

Good film! Only a few slower moments when he drinks, but symbolic of his denial.
I-Fak has many symbolic messages and a few slower moments that may not be understood by some. The color red is used alot, especially when she refuses to allow society to "paint her black." She is refusing to accept their image of her, and he struggles with it even until the end. I only wish it either ended up a bit more trajic (with him leaving the city/town for good) or dieing protecting her. The ending was a cliff hanger, and not in a good way. :/ Did he stay, go, do jumping-jacks? I have no idea. Yes she carried him off, but to where, and did they stay together? I think it is suggested that they did (since he basically tried to give her away then leave her at the station, but ended up regretting it), but I am not sure even after watching this film. Overall I give it a 4/5 stars, only missing 1 star because of his super-short time spent with his dad (not enough to develop their relationship, and that may have strengthened the backstory and our struggle watching the family).4/5 !

Ok movie, but no real ending
Movie started out okay, but as it progress, it went downhill. The two main character didn't really develop throughout the movie. It's main focus about how they try to avoid each other like opposing magnets but would somehow end up at each other side.. Was hoping for some type of ending but the movie didn't have any.

unusual movie....
unusual plot and ending, needless to say. A Thai friend of mine, though, said it sounded "typical" of a Thai movie!!

The story lingers in my mind two weeks after I viewed the film
The film takes a long while to develop and has unpredictable turns. I wouldn't call it a romantic film, and it is definitely not a comedy. According to Wiki, there is an alternate English title - Judgment. The alternate title is good to know after the film is complete, and the film must be watched until the end to understand its message. If you are a student of communist/big exploiter vs little commoner, you will find sympathetic threads in the movie from about half-way through. Same if you are a moralist and looking at the effects of gossip in small circles. If you are a romantic, looking for the leads to 'find each other', you might enjoy this if you can go beyond the movie and postulate several what-ifs. The ending is stunning, and ties up the movie well. This is not a feel-good movie, but is a thought-provoking essay. Easy for it to linger in your mind long after the reel ends.

May be considered slow but the conclusion is worth the wait
Enjoyment demands a divorce from an American view of social norms. It is a portrait of how the rigid, unyielding expectations of certain cultures kill the spirit. Good movie for a thoughtful day in.
