Q: How long is the slot to drop hearts in? Would hearts that are 2 inches by 2 inches fit?

The slot is on the top right of frame, only big enough for the hearts they provide. but they provide many hearts and you can paint them the colors of the event before you have guests sign them. My niece really loved this, they put a picture of them in the frame and guests signed and slid into slot. Very cute and unique idea. you can take frame apart and place your 2X2 inch hearts inside

Q: Is the font portion clear or white? I'd like to be able to see my photo?

The front is a clear, thin plexiglass. But make sure the pic is the right size, if it's not you'll see a cardboard type background. I tried to use a white back ground because the Pic I had was to small and just the slightest difference made it so the hearts wouldn't just fall in.
