Great center-channel speaker
I'm using one PR-12 as the center channel speaker on my home theater system. Compared to most of the similarly priced "bar shaped" center channel speakers, the sound of the PR-12 is clear, open, and dynamic. Voices are very natural and realistic sounding, and dialogue is easy to understand. It's extremely efficient, so my receiver's amp is more than adequate to pump out lease-breaking sound levels. The bass can sound a bit "tubby" when playing music at loud levels, but this is at levels where most traditional center channel speakers would be badly distorting.I needed to buy a cable with a 1/4" mono phono plug on one end and bare wire on the other for speaker wire, which my local Radio Shack stocked.Needless to say, this speaker won't fit inside most TV cabinets, and can't be tucked in front of the TV like most center channel speakers. My cabinet happens to be relatively tall, so I was able to just squeeze the speaker in once I removed most of the cabinet's shelves, which were just collecting dust anyway. The PR-12's black grille and dark-gray cabinet don't stand out, so it looks surprisingly at home inside the cabinet.Overall, a great speaker, made in the USA, for a very reasonable price.

Solid
I love these speakers. Light, small, solid, cheap... these things sound great and can take a beating. They work well for mains or monitors. Just add a sub if you need more bass. We pair with a Crown 1500w amp (the best). Not as frosty as Mackies, and not as high fidelity as Bag Ends... just plenty of old-school, blue-jean sound.

Perfect for my need
The Peavey speakers are being used for my neighborhood swimming-pool deck, for neighborhood parties and swim meets. The sound quality is excellent for both voice and music in this outdoor setting. And though not bought for hi-fi use, we are all pleasantly surprised with the decent fidelity. The speakers are much more efficient than your standard outdoor speakers with (typically) 4.5" to 8" drivers, and two speakers amply fill the deck with sound, and with the volume control set to well below half.I was originally concerned with the plastic shell, because it is much lighter than those built from heavy particle-board, but there is no resonance rattle or perceptible shake or rumble. The design also makes the speaker somewhat more weather resistant, and much easier to carry from place-to-place, due to the the convenient top-side handle. Having two parallel 1/4" jacks also makes it easy to gang two speakers together to one bridged circuit on my main system amplifier.

Peavey PR 15
Sound quality is 5 stars, and the reason why I only gave it 1 star because I ordered a pair from Amazon. I hooked them up to my system; they only played about 20 minutes, I noted that they were sound so funny. Both speaker tweeters were blown. they were boxed and go back to Amazon the same day. Quality is 1 star!

Despite timeliness of arrival it was not a powered speaker.

Great price, works fine so far
I haven't pushed the speaker too hard yet, but so far it has worked fine. It's much lighter than it looks, and it is larger than I expected. Sounds great with the Peavey power amp. I'm actually using it as a guitar speaker along with a VOX pedal to simulate cabinets and amps. I expect to buy the second one before too long. The price was good, but the shipping (to Hawaii) was terrific.

Works Great
I use them for on-stage monitors, mounted on mike stands (with a little rigging involved). They are loud, light-weight and sound pretty decent. The construction is solid and they are built ruggedly. I also use them as mains in my home studio. I have small amps so they work fine in that setting. I also thought the price was good. The only disappointment I have with them is that they are not shaped correctly to lay their sides for use as floor monitors.
