heck for the price, I can buy more and use the beads for knife lanyards, or other purposes. If you learn how to use these which is really simple you can actually find where you are on any USGS map. If you start from a certain place, you can keep track of where you are. Always carry a small pad of paper and a small pencil in a zip lock bag and you can keep notations of where you are etc. excellent but you need to use a map as it really helps. neat item has been around for years and we learned how to use these years ago in the military. You can make your own or add beads to this to get longer distances. makes an awesome stocking stuffer for the hunting or prepper types in you family.

I like using these beads to keep my pay scale if I'm walking far into the forest instead of carrying my GPS a lot of times I use these beads for pay scale they're well-made and I have them hooked onto my backpack. I like the little skulls

I haven't set up and tested my pace so I can properly use these, but damn, they're cool! Seem very well made and durable. Recommend highly for paper map and compass orienteering. Just don't go overboard over your training level and jump out of a low-flying helicopter just because you got these. Get some!

I really like this setup for ranger pace beads. I had intended to buy some skulls and make my own but I saw the same thing on sale here already. They look cool, hold in place and don't break the camo on my pack they're attached to.The only cons is the weight. I'm sure they're made to not break but they do seem a bit heavy still.

A bit larger than I usual but did meet my expectations. It strong, sturdy, and made well. Would recommend.

I have not used this in the field yet, but it appears to be build very well and should hold up for many years. It is a little bigger than others I have used, but I figured it would be great with or without gloves being slightly larger beads (skulls). looks great too.

Would be better if they could be used at night. These do NOT glow.

I bought the click counter for my search and rescue work. It has worked out well for that and for my personal hikes.
