Did the job in minutes
I used the FixnZip to repair a pair of hunting pants. It took only a few minutes to read the instructions (what a concept!) and install the FixnZip on the pants. Good as new! Best part... no need to take it to a tailor for repair or ask my wife to fix it...I did it myself!!As a bit of help for others, it is good to rub a pencil on the teeth of the zipper when done as the graphite makes a good lubricant. Also, to ensure that the zipper pull won't come off at the bottom, I used a wire staple at the bottom of the zipper, stuck through the material, under the zipper, through the other side, and pinched with a pair of pliers to form a circle around the zipper; this makes a "stopper" that prevents the pull from going down too far and coming off the zipper. You can also do the same at the top of the zipper on both sides if needed.

The zipper on one of my favorite coats unfortunately was experiencing teeth separation
The zipper on one of my favorite coats unfortunately was experiencing teeth separation. I looked online for remedies. One of the options was to have it replaced professionally, but I'm notwilling to spend over $60 for a zipper. So I decided to try the wrench method that tightens the zipper slide that I found on youtube. This didn't work but the next suggested video was for the FixnZip. It looked like it worked fairly easily and so far this zipper slider is working and is doing a wonderful job. Installing it was super easy. You unscrew/loosen it and pop it on the side with the teeth locker. I tried separating the teeth and they held firm so I'm incredibly relieved that I don't have to replace the entire section of the teeth strip.

A sturdy no tool zipper replacment, just need more size selection.
I've now used this replacement zipper for a few weeks, and while this is a really sturdy zipper screw on replacement, because the size assortment is limited, it won't pull and keep on track unless you take the time to carefully pull it up and down. This product has a single adjustment (the clamp). But there is no width adjustment (and probably no easy way to do it), so the only way to match the width is to sell an assortment of sizes so that there is no significant slack to cause it to slip off. I just wish they had the complete assortment in one kit. There is an in-expensive plastic snap on and off kit called Fix a zipper kit; it includes a 6 pack that covers sizes 3 4 5 8 8c and 10. So ideally, what i would like is a combination of these two kits. You need the different sizes for the width which Fix a Zipper has, and the screw on clamp in FixNZip gives it a sturdy tool-less method to snap it on place with no sewing that overcomes the weakness of a cheap plastic snap that can't hold up. I speculate that another option would be to provide a tool that takes a conventional zipper that comes in 2 pieces and secures it together so that you could eliminate the expensive and bulkly screw.

Works on coiled zippers with tweaking
I purchased this to repair a soprano saxophone case from China. Both zippers had broken on me. When I installed this FixnZip medium, it was binding the spring coil zipper so that zipped looked narrow and turned under, so I bought the large. Large would not zip at all, was too large. I took a flat file and filed about 0.25 mm off the inside of each flat on the medium one, widening it slightly and a little off the vertical making it slightly tighter. Now it works just fine. Zipper is a touch under 8mm, closer to 7.5mm. It worked and it saved me having to buy another case. As in all universal devices, one may have to do a little tweaking to make it work for their particular situation. On the FixnZip large, I gave it to a friend to repair a broken zipper on motorcycle chaps, so it was put to good use.

The medium size, it is mediocre but it work, and there are no other choices.
I tried the plastic black ones, clip type, avoid it, waste of time, it pops open all the time.I tried the plastic green ones with the screw, avoid them, too weak it can not do the job. This metal one is better but still mediocre, and very expensive.I order the medium size, and it is able to close the bag with a little help, holding the fabric together while closing the zipper. This zipper closer is spring loaded. what that means is that if one pulls fast and away from the zipper it will come loose, and it will need to be reinstall. When closing the zipper one needs to pull the zipper slowly ( no yanking). It is a good solution for an old problem. It does the job but it is not perfect.I run out of choices, it is like the best doctor in the old west, it was the only one.

Easy and User-Friendly!
I am NOT a DIY person by any means, but was able to figure this out after watching a video and grabbing a pair of pliers to break off the old zipper. Instructions are hard to find--they're folded up in the cardboard packaging itself, not on a separate piece of paper. I bought this when my well-used Thirty-One bag's zipper broke twice, and I thought I would have to get rid of the bag (and Thirty-One doesn't make this style anymore!) It was much cheaper to get the FixnZip than it would have been to find a new favorite large bag.

Don’t break your zipper
Does the job. Kind of hard to fiddle with. Hit the return button because the thumb screw was kind of unpredictable. Seemed to loosen after a bit. Design is kind of weird. The thumb screw is huge. They probably could have used one with a bit of a lower profile and put it on the inside of the zipper instead of facing out. It’s kind of awkward to manipulate. Also it would have been a bit more benificial if it had an actual zipper pull tab. Not a fan of the thread style pull tab it comes with.
