As supplied, this product cannot be installed in accordance with UK electrical safety regulations.The LED driver is different from the one illustrated on the Amazon web page. The inner insulation of the mains connection is exposed where it enters the case of the driver (See photo 1) which is against the regulations. Whilst this may be acceptable on the low voltage output, the photo is showing the mains input. The inner insulation has no mechanical protection with the potential for a breach that may occur during or after insulation exposing live conductors. In photo 2 it can be seen that the insulation has already started to suffer mechanical damage.In both photos 2 and 3 it can be seen that there is no strain relief or clamp where the flexible cords enter the casing. This means that any mechanical manipulation of the wires - either deliberate or accidental - risks breaking a connection. This could lead to arcing causing a fire. The only thing holding the circuit board in place is the cables which as said before are not clamped.Photo 4 shows where the low voltage wires enter the light fitting. There is no grommet fitted in the hole. There is therefore the risk of the insulation chafing against the sides of the hole during installation or subsequent vibration with the potential for a short circuit. I don’t know what - if any - short circuit protection is designed into the LED driver, but there may well be an overheating/fire risk.The Amazon entry for this product describes it as ’Kitchen Under Cabinet Lights’. However the instructions say “Please do not use this product under high temperature and humid environment”- So not good for a kitchen then – particularly near the hob or the kettle.The instructions also say “To ensure safe installation, please entrust electrical professionals to operate”. I assume that they mean use a professional to install it. I would hope that any competent person with good morals would refuse to install the product as supplied. It certainly not worth the cost of – as the wording suggests – employing a professional to operate the on/off switch!I shall certainly be returning this product and am also considering contacting trading standards.
