Schiit Lyr 3 Tube Hybrid Headphone Amplifier Without Module (Silver)

The smoothness of the Lyr 3 is on another level! I've had tube amps before but this is my first proper tube-sounding amp. I love the "holographic" sound, but somehow it has even more raw detail and than the solid-state Jotunheim. The Lyr 3 really shows off what Schiit's multibit DAC's can do, I'm listening with the HD 800S on the Lyr 3 through the new Bifrost 2 and it's just sublime!Experience (Einaudi) - Ludovico's masterpiece was portrayed with a smoothness and clarity that I had never heard before! I bought a Schiit Lyr 3 with delta/sigma dac a few weeks ago. I didn't go with the Multibit dac, as that was on back order. In any case, I'll look to get Bifrost 2 or similar next year. I have Hifiman Sundaras, which are terrific headphones, but they can sound a bit lean. I had been using them with my laptop, and they sounds very good with plenty of volume, but the Lyr 3 takes them to another, and much higher, level. The Lyr add some warmth and authority to the low end, and ton of grit and glare has been removed from the mids and top end. It gives plenty of volume on low gain with the Sundaras. The Lyr 3 is very well built, with every part feeling high quality. Schiit forgot a usb cable that I ordered, and I messed up a tube. Schiit's customer service was excellent, which can't be said for Hifiman. I expect I'll enjoy the Lyr 3 for a very long time. Highly recommended for use with Sundaras!
