POWRUI 8-Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip with 4 USB Charging Ports and 6-Foot Heavy Duty Extension Cord, 2100 Joules

Needed a power strip to plug the home, work laptops, printer, heater, cell phone chargers ... in one place. Bought from this vendor before, good quality stuff. Did some research on the price. This one seems has a good price/function value. Heavy duty, long cord. Sleek look also.Ordered on a Thursday night, supposed to deliver on the next Tuesday with "Over $25 free shipping". But man, Amazon shipped on the Sunday before!

I use this surge protector for the most expensive electronics in our house, as it is a very powerful surge protector. Also, I like the space design in between the outlets, so that you can plug bulky head chargers without wasting other outlets. USB outlets comes very handy when it is close to a sofa or seats, for easy charge of pads and phones. Last but not least, I really like the sleek look of this very functional power strip. Highly recommended for every household!

The first impression after I opened the box was the build quality. The extension cord is very heavy duty, 12GA wire, and still pretty flexible. The case is very solid and can withhold strong stress. Very easy to use and setup, and with the 4 USB port, I can pretty much remove all the chargers on my desk, that's definitely a plus. The "Grounded" indicator is very helpful too, which can make sure your power plugs are properly connected and grounded.

I like that it has 14 gauge wire that is the size of your house light circuit wire for the cord and it is 6 feet long. I installed this on the side of a bedside table for a friend and it hangs really nice. It didn’t seem to come with any screws, maybe I lost them. I found two screws that worked in my junk. My friend had a generic apple cord that was taking hours to charge his Ipad. When we plugged it into this unit the chord did not even work. That tells me that this unit is smart enough not to try and charge through a faulty cord. We plugged in a new cord and it worked right off. We threw the other chord away. I like the unit and it is well made. I feel safe that it will protect all the equipment and the smart usb charger seems to be pretty smart to even detect a bad cord and not even try to charge through it. I recommend this unit.

Seems to be working just fine thus far. I have had none of the issues that others have had with the USB ports. I have 3 devices constantly plugged into these ports and it has been working fine. That being said, if any of this changes, so will my review. Mounts just fine on my wall as long as you used a nail or a screw with a lower head profile. Tried to use a screw that was used to mount my previous protector and the head was too big to go into the slots on the back of the surge strip. Overall a good buy for the money.

*Update to 5 stars, as promised*I haven't used it (as far as I know) against lightening strikes, but it works really good for a multiple outlet. The 3 extra USB charging ports work well.And all the outlets are spread out enough that there isn't a problem pluggung in multiple AC adaptors, as they spread the side-by-side receptacles far enough apart, that plugging one bulky AC adaptor in on one side of the strip, doesn't block the other port adjacent to it; which saves blocked outlets, and one of the reasons I bought this model.The red and green indicator lights are easily visible.Have had about 2 months-- no issues yet; will jack up to a 5 star rating in 5-6 months if all is well, still.

I bought this brand before and was quite happy about it. The package looks awesome and I was immediately impressed unpacking this. The cable is very sturdy with good insulation. The cable is quite long, but it also comes with a handy velcro strap so you can bundle up excess neatly. The six outlets and USB ports are really nice that I can charge all my devices with just one power strip! This is truly a great produce. Highly recommended.

The smart USB doesn't work with my Amazon Echo, which uses 5.2v, if left idle. Also, when multiple devices plugged into the USB ports, some of the devices got hot to the touch. Might be okay sometimes for this to happen but the devices were fully charged so no reason for them to be hot. The off switch is on the top side and can be easily bumped by accident causing the power strip to turn off. I'm not returning the item, it still seems to work, I just don't trust keeping stuff plugged into the USB ports on it. I'm keeping it as a back up power strip. I went ahead and ordered another name brand power strip that I trust more.Smart home devices probably should always be plugged into the power adapter that came with the unit anyway. I just know that my APC and other name brand power strips give me the option of running smart devices off the power strip USB ports no problem.
