Absolutely TERRIFYING! A Must-Read for Fans of The Warrens!
Out of all the books of Ed and Lorraine’s, this one is one of the creepiest. It’s very psychological, unnerving, dark, intense, and diabolical. It displays just how ruthlessly evil demons can be. Ed and Lorraine were truly brave, courageous people who went out of their way to help people and families in distress. This case tells the story of Frenchie, who is briefly mentioned in The Conjuring and the end of The Nun, and the intense battle for his soul. He was a vulnerable victim of demonic possession - even caught on video - and this book goes into great detail and chronicles the dark path he and The Warrens go down. I highly recommend it!

Amazingly creepy
I don't get scared easily, but this book really did freak me out. It's such a good read, and since I live close to the area where it happened in Massachusetts, it made it that much creepier! Out of all the books in this series, this one is probably my favorite. Some of the situations that are described in this book are almost too hard to wrap your head around. Great read.

Good read.
Easy read. The book does leave a few items open ended and slightly confusing. What was the unholy act in the barn? Why during the last arrest did Maurice seem to go back to a possessed state? The exorcism part of the story was extremely anticlimactic to say the least. But overall I'd give it a solid 3. So far my least favorite of the Ed and Lorraine warren books. I have also read the werewolf book. Much better story although the "flow and feel" of the book was pretty close.

Mentally ill or possessed?
This is the question that keeps popping up again and again for the reader in this book. The story is intriguing but one does wonder if too much emphasis is put on possession and not enough emphasis on possible mental illness. Was Maurice mentally ill? I don't know. I do know that with his childhood full of abuse, his deep attachment to his mother, and his cruelty to others along with his acts of pedophilia are a perfect recipe for mental illness/disorder.Ultimately, the reader will have to decide for themselves. I think it's important prior to making up your mind to consider Maurice's victims.

Highly recommended
This is a fantastic account of a genuine case of demonic possession of a middle aged guy called Maurice Theriault, a farmer of French Canadian decent. One thing I like about this book is that it has a lot of case history... the things that happened to this poor guy and his family would shock many. Demonic possession is quite rare, Vatican exorcists tend to die early due to the affect of being round such foul things. The Warrens are usually called in to some of the most severe cases and they are the ones who determine whether demonic influence is at play before calling in the Church and this case is no exception. I`ve been studying demonology for no less than fifteen years and this book covers a very well known case. There are a few uploads on Youtube that cover some of this case showing Maurice Theriault going through exorcism. Its very strange to watch as huge lumps appear on his arms and his face changes shape with strange scars appearing on his forehead before all who are present, you may find this video footage of interest... go to Youtube and write in the bar Maurice Theriault and this will take you to the video. This was a great buy for me and i`m sure you won`t be disappointed! *****

Intriguing, but the author(s) artistic license made me question aspects of the case.
I enjoyed this book and it is intriguing. However, the reason for the 4 stars, instead of 5, is a niggle that I have that makes me question the true facts and question the author(s). This is supposed to be a true written account of a farmer in USA, who was attacked and tormented by an unknown force for many years and Ed and Lorraine Warren eventually got involved to assist him with an exorcism. It actually states on the front cover "The true accounts of the demonologists featured in the film The Conjuring". However, there are sections in the book that the author(s) uses far too much artistic license and it made me very much aware that I was reading a "story" rather than a true account. I'm not sure if this was deliberate to make it more palatable for the masses, but I found it a little frustrating and made me doubt other parts of the story and facts.

Good Service is always welcome
{Satans Harvest} by Ed and Lorraine Warren is the story of one families disturbing account of their experiences with an evil entity that besieged their farm in the American mid west and caused them to re - evaluate their very existence.

Fantastic and Interesting Read
I decided to read this book after learning about Ed and Lorraine from the movie The Conjuring. I later found out that they were also involved in "The Amityville Horror" and "The Haunting in Connecticut".The story of Maurice is a good read but you do feel sympathy towards Maurice after everything that him and his family went through. It's definitely a scary book if your looking for that (it terrified me). I'd highly recommend to read it and there are even videos on YouTube of the exorcism.Read and Enjoy.
