Q: Will the motherboard see this and boot to the drive?

I am going to say, if it does not say M.2 or NVMe support in your motherboard specs, at least most likely not out of the box; my Z77-D3H board did not, I tried to add the module to the bios firmware but there was't enough room and I did not want to try and figure out what other module I could remove, other people have been successful on other z77 boards and other chip-sets like z99. However, I kept it and used it as a secondary drive, mainly needed it for VMWare virtual machines and gaming, and put my OS on a smaller SATA SSD and it works great, Windows loading screen in 2 seconds full boot in about 5 seconds (twitch, discord, etc. loading), VM's load in about 8 seconds, I cannot complain. I would do the same thing if you're looking for a gaming drive, just put your steam library or other games on this drive and you will be happy.

Q: will this work with the ryzen 7 4700g?

I have an older Ryzen 7 2700X and it works fine
