Ok so I called AMAZON again and this time the attendant took care and is sending the replacement unit.I appreciate his quick action to send the replacement it is appreciated as the screen is on a critical device that I need to beable to see what is going on.Seeing that AMAZON sent me here to send an EMAIL to the seller because the screen stopped working.Here it is, the Screen only shows WHITE now for some reason and I have tried several cables and outputs to known good to work devices.So the Touch screen does not work on the DVR I connected it too. To bad.But the backlight is fairly bright will install it in the truck tomorrow to see if I can see it during day time hours the main goal. The picture is of good quality.But the funny thing is the screen a 7" next to another screen which is also a 7" are not the same size....The old one is larger by 3/4" approx. A very noticeable difference.How is that possible I have no idea?Now I have to connect an HDMI cable to the DVR and the screen instead of a VGA screen cable which upgraded a Video composite output. LOL

Just used it as a display. It has a blue hue (see the pictures). Apart from that, the display works well. I didn’t check the touch screen.

First off, I had to keep perspective - I got this capacitive touch screen for $40.99 plus tax, for use with my Raspberry Pi and for a simple little video monitor for shooting. For the applications I needed it for, it more than meets my needs, and is much better than I though I would get for 40 bucks. There are many good things about this monitor/screen module, and there are a few weak points as well.For starters, the size is nice, and the screen, as it arrives, is pretty solid, firmly attached to the controller board, and although the ribbon cables are exposed on the back, there are some great cases and frames for this screen available for very reasonable prices. In the one image, you can see the screen as it comes next to the exact same screen mounted in a nice frame/case that I picked up on 'Zon for about 12 bucks, the "Kuman 7 inch Raspberry Pi Touch Screen Case Holder", which I will also review, but that is a different "case" altogether. Back to the screen at hand.It has a plug and play set up with the Pi, and I understand it works well with Windows 10 also, though I have not bothered to hook it up to Windows, as I already have an insane amount of monitors on my desktop, and never intended to use it for that. The touch function is pretty good - not overly sensitive, tracks pretty well, and is easy to get used to. Price point is GREAT, and the overall resolution looks very good at 1280x600 pixels.The main down side of this LCD screen so far, as I have read in other reviews, is that it does have a bit of a cool tint (blueish) to it overall - I don't mind for my purposes, but it could be an issue if you are doing color fidelity, gamut sensitive work. There may be a way to adjust the contrast, brightness, hue, etc. but there seems to be no OSD menu system with the screen as it arrives. It also has one HDMI port for video signal, which is a non issue for me, but you may have other needs.I may hook it up to my Windows computer art some point, and see what adjustments I can make via the desktop monitor controls (I have NVidia control panel), which may show more range of color, brightness, gamma, etc. I will amend this review or re-review it at that point, but as it is, I have been playing with this little bugger for about a week, and overall, I am fully satisfied with the quality.In Summary, if you are looking for a touch screen that is bigger than the little 3.5 inch resistive jobs, but not so big and bulky as a 14 inch or larger monitor, this is a great option to consider. Full sized HDMI input, Micro USB for power and for touch functionality make it easy to use with parts and cables you likely already have - but just in case, they included an HDMI cable, and a set of standoffs and screws so you can give it legs that keep the tender bits off the table.One of the best screens for it's size I have found on Amazon.
