Fowler 52-520-747-0 Timing Gage set

Arrived in a nicely padded plastic case. Indicator seems decent, moves smoothly, black face is easy to read. Included the two spark plug thread adapters, and an approximately 1" extension tip for the indicator, all of which also seem to be well made. No issues with the locking screws on the adapters. The indicator itself comes with a tip pre-installed, which was a little tough to remove initially. I guess I can understand why, don't want little bits falling off inside a cylinder, but if you want to remove it in order to install the extension tip, might need a couple sets of padded pliers. I did.

Bought this to index my 2.5L Mercury V6 outboard for timing. It worked perfectly, as it comes with a 1" tip extension to reach the piston top once screwed in. This allowed my to find true TDC for all 6 cylinders.

This was used on a 99 YZ 250 to set the timing. There was not enough space between the head and frame too use the 14mm adapter but this is not the product fault. I was able to get around this and the device operation gave repeatable results and worked as intended.

I just finally got to use this tool and wasn't terribly happy with it. The set screw(s) in both sized spark plug hole adapters is loose and about to strip and I only used once. Very poor quality machining. I can live with the cheapo-feel of the dial indicator if the thing stays in place, but looks like I am going to have to modify the tool to make the set-screw fitment better.

Used on a small gas engine. Easy to use. Smooth needle movement. Came with a case.

Used this to time my 1973 Yamaha CT3 it did what I needed it to. Seemed like okay quality wouldn’t call it a professional timing guage but for the DIY in your garage it works fine. I wish when buying though there was an option to have a metric face or an imperial. I mean most 2 strokes are Japanese and use metric sizing

Came in as advertised , quality good used it to time two stroke snowmobile engine performed as it should. Nice that it had the two spark plug adaptors made timing easy and fast . Did not have to fabricate gauge brackets

Not sure how to contact the vendor directly so will leave feedback here. Item is as described except for 1 thing. The screws that hold on the back cover are missing. this seems a bit strange. The cover protects the delicate internal mechanism, so will need to find screws or just keep it the case so it is protected and only remove it when I am going to use it.

I needed to time a 2 stroke engine, and this was exactly what I needed. Quality is good, accuracy is good, price is good.
