The Dry: Preview

Actually, this is a review of the book, which I bought after reading the free Kindle preview and the Amazon reviews. The book had rave reviews. While I enjoyed the story, and it's a good read, I don't think it's a rave-able book. I enjoyed learning new things about Australia. Good surprise ending.

I marvel at the imagination of the author in creating such a complex story. I wonder if the author had it all mapped out in advance, or created new plot twists as she was moving through the story line. In any case, I enjoyed it throughout the entire book.

I liked it all, the plot, the characters, the style. It's not a light reading, it's heavy and has layers, and they are delivered mercilessly. Very good.

It caught me from the beginning. The suspicions, the secrets, and the elapsed time. All leads to something, and I can’t wait for more.

I didn't realize this was merely a preview of the book. What's the point of reading only the first few chapters?

One of the best mystery stories written. From the first paragraph on I was hooked. All the great qualities of a mystery were included in this story. You can not put the book down.

A book club book. For me, the story was a little hard to follow. It was a good story line ad I never would have guessed the ending. Not a place that I would like to live.

Amazing. It's only January but I doubt that I will read a better mystery (or even book) this year. Highly recommended.
