Decent meter with a lot of options. I have had problems with the ohms readings and the batteries dies fast.

Great, robust, fully featured clamp-meter.
The meter is very...VERY...well built. It's very robust and it feels great in the hand due to extensive rubber padding. The buttons have the right amount of feedback and they're reasonably big and spaced out so you can probably use it with gloves. The LCD is big and the backlight is bright and even across the screen, and most importantly it stays on for as long as you want it to. It has a cool flashlight that comes in handy in dark cabinets. It comes with a very nice and high quality set of leads that actually exceed the CAT rating of the meter (Which is CAT IV - 600V) . There are lots of features and once you figure out how to use them it's quite nice. The Bluetooth is ok, didn't try the range or anything but it works and I can see it being useful at times. Keep in mind though, that Bluetooth is not an industrial standard and can be subject to strong interference from the machinery around you. I wouldn't call it a gimmick but rather a cool feature with limitations. The only...and I mean...the ONLY drawback about it is the somewhat apparent lack of accuracy (of reading) when using it as a DMM (compared to a fully featured DMM). I do understand this is a 600Amp clamp-meter firstly, and a DMM secondly. According to the book you're looking at +/- 0.7% for DCV, +/- 1% for ACV. For instance, Fluke 87-V has 0.05% for DCV and 0.7% for ACV. On the current side, it's pretty typical for this range (600Amp): +/- 2% for DCA and +/-2%-2.5% for ACA (depending on Freq.) You have +/-1% for Resistance and +/-1.9% for Capacitance. Again, these are great numbers and none of this should prevent you from troubleshooting any...ANY high power equipment. I do believe though that people got spoiled with all the Flukes out there with outstanding accuracy and I was hoping that for a newly developed unit like this one, things would improve from the typical meter. And they did, just not in the accuracy front. (Yes, I know I'm comparing a clamp-meter with a DMM, but this clamp-meter is also a DMM). Now, FLIR has the Extech brand, as a cheap alternative. I would never buy an Extech meter. But I will buy (and recommend) a FLIR Meter. This, next to their Thermal Imager and the newly released DMMs are a fantastic modern set of tools that you can use for pretty much anything out there. If I'd be Flir right now, I'd really consider expanding this line of tools and fill a relative void of alternatives in the field out there. Yes, Flukes are just fine, but why not have other equally well built options out there? And it really doesn't (shouldn't) matter, but I really like the black color scheme of the meter. It looks very professional and even if it gets dirty it will not show as much as it shows on a Fluke that after a week of use looks like after a year of use and it's virtually impossible to ever clean it again. I use my tools, but I also respect and love my tools. The Flir looks like a unit I would pass on to my kid or to a friend, one that with little care will last not one but many generations ahead.

Great options. Bad range and very bulky.
Great meter with lots of options BUT very bulky. And the range on the bluetooth is horrible. I have tried bluetoothing to various devices and barely get 15-18 ft max range. Not at all useful for what I do. Considering selling it and getting a fluke.

This is a Great Meter along with a Great Androd App
We are using three of these meters on test fixtures along with the Android App that allows the meter readings to wirelessly appear in the App via Bluetooth. It eliminates wires and allows the meter to placed away from the operator and view the data from a safe vantage point.Great Product with a Great App
