EBS Sweden AB Bass Distortion Effects Pedal (VDR-DI)

This is on my pedal board right now. I really love BOTH the Vintage tone and the Modern tone that it is voiced for. Very musical. I still own a bass amp, but I bypass everything and run it into the Return and just use the amplifier section. This way, no matter where I go, or go direct into a mixing console, my tone comes with me. Honestly, bang for the dollar spent, this is a VERY good buy. Well-built, all metal construction. Tube well protected. True Tube Tone with EQ and XLR DI. I'm not going to call this a CON, but the EQ section operates differently than you would expect or are used to. The Gain and the Volume are like any other. But, flat for this unit is High and Low full left and the Mid Full Right. That is FLAT for this unit. Basically, the Highs and Lows are additive from Flat, and the Mid is Reductive from Flat. This is a pretty distinct difference from how "Normal" EQ operates. But since 99% runs scooped Mids, then this way of doing EQ gives you more variation as a result. So again, not a CON, but a different way of thinking. I like this unit and I do recommend it. I play everything from Country to Punk, Secular to Christian. One pedal board does it all for me, and this Tube Pre/DI is an excellent way to go.

DO NOT GET. Came broken! Lights only blink. Tube turns off and on. No sound. Big waste of money!

Beautiful sound for bass, guitar or keys! Makes anything digital sound more organic with the tubes.
