KRAUS Kitchen Soap and Lotion Dispenser in Chrome, KSD-43CH

My former dishwasher used an air breather but the new dishwasher didn't require one. (I remember cutting the hole in the stainless steel sink back in '79 when I built the house!). So anyway, I replaced the now unused breather with the Kraus Kitchen Soap Dispenser. Now after I placed the order I noticed the statement that many had been returned and there was a review or two that were unfavorable. I was a bit nervous, but thought worse case, I'd send it back...𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐈 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭! I quite like the product being able to fill with soap from the top. So far, I give the product high marks. 😊👍

Served purpose well to incorporate into sink and faucet design. Difficulty in attaching dispenser due toPlacement on garbage disposal in plumbing design. Evaluate before ordering to eliminate frustration.

I ordered this twice, and both times I was sent the wrong color. I need Chrome. But the keep sending stainless steel. I have purchased several Krauss faucets over the years and they all worked well for us. When there were issues, the company was very responsive. Hate to have to go to another brand too get the dispenser.

Chose because the style matched my existing Kraus faucet. Quality seems very good. There's some real garbage out there. Biggest fear is drilling a hole in a brand new quartz countertop! Thankfully, another masterful job! Looks great.

The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: Kraus emailed me and let me know that they did in fact recently change the pump mechanism without updating photos or model number. They know it is flimsy and just apologized as they don’t make the older, sturdier model. Cost cutting gone wrong. Stay away.Original Review:Ok so I bought two of these in stainless steel a couple years ago and they are great and going strong.I decided to throw five chrome ones into our bathrooms and when they came the pumps are totally different despite being the exact same model number. You can see the new chrome ones are hollow underneath whereas the old ones had some retaining plastic pieces.These pieces are ESSENTIAL so the head is secure when assembled. With the new style, the head wobbles like a cheap $2 pump. Not secure at all.Either all five are a new style to save on parts or all five I got are a manufacturing defect. Who knows.Stay away.Pic 1 is the old better style with plastic rings so it doesn’t wobble. Pic 2 is the new garbage style. Video is to show how bad the wobble is with the new style. Amazon won’t let me put a comparison video but the old one is solid and doesn’t rock around or is loose at all.

This is a great value product. We previously had a Kohler soap dispenser, and though the Kohler is manufactured from more robust and heavier materials (brass, nice chrome, slightly thicker gauge plastic bottle), and is MUCH more expensive, their pump mechanism is a total BUST!. For some reason the Kohler pumps don't properly function over time. They seize and even with lubrication, fail to work after a while. Save your money. Buy several of these pumps for the price of one Kohler (or other pricey brand). We have had it installed for several weeks now and the pump mechanism and the finish all seem to be working and holding up well. I"ll be purchasing a second one to replace our second Kohler pump (which is also currently seized!) for our laundry room sink.
